Finally starting to get enough done on my sled that i thought i'd start a thread! Sled is an 08 nytro i picked up this fall, she was in pretty rough shape (was beside a guy's shop when it burnt down) but the price was right. Engine has carrillo rods, JE "big boost" pistons, head studs, mild porting and valve job, and cleaned up the chambers a bit. It has a 2860rs turbo w/tial housing, synapse wastegate and synapse BOV, Header is mild steel with ceramic coating inside and out. Removed the rad and installed a tunnel cooler to make room for a nice big intercooler (at the welding shop getting the tanks built). Gonna use RB3 to tune it. Plan is to run around 12-14psi on the prairies here and about 20 when i head for the hills! Just gonna convert it back and forth from long to short track. Got a lot of work left but here is what i got so far.

What did you end up using for the oil feed fitting? Did you use the oil pressure sensor port?

Where did you find a fitting with that unique thread? I couldn't find that size anywhere...

I'll be interested to see how the mild steel header holds up. What wall or guage did you use? Looks like it's not your first rodeo, keep the pics coming. These DIY threads are by far my favourite, as I think a lot of good ideas come out of them. I think you will see a lot more guys going this route cause lets face it some of these kits are getting pretty spendy.

i think it will hold up alright, especially being ceramic coated inside and out, but it is brutal heavy (it is made out of weldels). Would love to build a nice light stainless one but don't have a tig yet and the weldels are really nice to work with - I can always swap out the header later. I've built automotive setups before but this is my first sled. I should be done the intercooler tonight, will try and get some pics up!
