Yes a higher degree of wrap is always gonna backshift faster, and rev higher thru the shift when compared to less degree of wrap. Just like keeping your race bike in 2nd gear longer so you can blow by everyone coming out of the light.
Revving a tad higher at trail speeds offers a snappier feel.
The key is to not have too much backpressure, so you still can shift out to make good top speeds, and not have too much heat from the clutches fighting eachother.
Dale makes a great point about gearing and also which weights you run...Testing is best way to get your combo.
I am very concerned about the amount of heat I did have. I melted a belt on a top speed run that wasn't very fast. I went back to stock weights have more revs and less heat.
No real long pulls yet to confirm findings. This weekend I believe. Maybe some testing too.

with that track Id not bother with 3/3. Y0u got alot more to turn there.Very cool.
I plan on running this weekend out there. I was thinking of bringing some tools and trying both wraps on Piston Alley but I think traffic is going to be heavy.
What track are running? I have a Backcountry 1.75 that hurts me.

1.25 ripsaw. Your track will change the way you setup the clutch for sure.
If you are testing on piston ally be very careful where you stop and stay on the side. Your right it’s busy up there. Alere said he sold 20 grand in gas sales Saturday alone.
Wow. He is getting Governor's traffic I suppose.
Probably head that way this weekend.
Thanks

Could be. I am going to start there and go to 6-1. I will decide then. Or just pull the trigger on a flash, CAI and exhaust. I already bought the CAI!

I did some testing today. STM 60ys weights, ulmer pink primary spring, dalton b/o secondary spring, stock helix. I tried both 6-1 and 3-3. Both feel snappy on the trails. 3-3 was 2 mph faster. Waiting for my dtya1s and black/blue primary spring to come in. Hoping to make more gains.
Oh and at 6-1 clutches were warm, I could hold my hands on them no problem. At 3-3 they were cooler. To me 3-3 is where it's at.

Good info, how do you have your ramps loaded, and what rpm are you now at? Reason I ask,is we have similar set up,mine struggles on top.I did some testing today. I tried mine at 6-1 last week and really liked how it performed. Today I went to 3-3 and I will see how I like it tomorrow.I did some testing today. Wow that's all you have for weight. When I went back to stock spring and helix I had 4 washers 2 per side and tungsten both sides in tip and was over revving so added 2 washers and a small washer from my stm weights for my Apex in the middle still a hair over 9100 to 9150 and stock spring and 33/35 helix. Gonna try blk/org spring with 33/35 helix add a regular washer to middle and see how it goes. Gonna try 70 then I'll see how 60 is along with my rpms

At 6-1 I had 2 washers in heel and 2 washers in the mid along with the 2 tungstens in the tip. In the conditions today it was pulling 8900-9000. When I went to 3-3 I removed the 2 washers in the mid and she pulled 8900-9000. It was 2 mph faster in 2000'.Wow that's all you have for weight. I didn't get much testing in last weekend. The ice was rough as hell and I had other sleds that needed work. The little testing I did showed a 4 mph gain just by going from the stock secondary spring to the Dalton BO @ 6-1. Not sure why since the finish is supposed to be the same. Clutches were much cooler and felt like it was gripping the belt much better in the midrange. 116mph stock spring, 120 mph Dalton. Early 17' TP setup in the primary, stock helix. Stock tune. I'm only pulling about 8500 rpm though. I need to drop more weight.

What's the difference between the STM 60y and 60ys weights?

60y has more curvature, 60ys more flatter like stock profile. I bought some daltons to try, it'll be nice to compare both back to back. What's the difference between the STM 60y and 60ys weights?
