I just talked to my dealer and he said all the machines that they uncrated had scratches due to poor crating.
Anyone hear this too????

spindle
my left spindle was scratched from the crate. dealer says about half of his order was like this due to the sled shucking in the crate. he ordered a new one before I even picked it up and said they will put on during first service

My new 05 rx1er had a little damage on the front of the hood. Used black stripping tape across the front of the hood to cover it up. Dosen't look to bad. Dealer said he will replace the hood.

I don't know why everyone wants their sleds so early. :? I talked to my dealer and mentioned that alot of the US guys already have their sleds and he scratched his head and said they don't even think about sleds until Mid-September. Maybe by that time, Yamaha will have the crate thing figured out.
Personally, I'd rather take the sleds that are built at the end of the production cycle rather than the begining....IMO.

no, the paint is rubbed off about the size of a dime, behind the spindle.

Guy's- I personally set up 1 rx and 1 rs last saturday and both machines were crated like fort nox and no damage! I am very picky about my personal toys, so I look them over at work very carefully. I work part time at a dealership in Mukwonago. Bill
Likley doesn't matter if you pick them up now or in October.I think most machines are produced ,crated and either on the ships or in the warehouses.

Looked mine over very carefully last night absolutely zero damage
Looks to me like they used too light of material in the crate when tying down the front of the sled. When mine was uncrated, one side had twisted and came loose. I had a very small rub spot on the back side of the spindle. I am sure they will use heavier next year.

I picked up my vector today.. Looked it over pretty good. Spindles are fine.. I had a rub mark on the black belly.. Plastic cleaner cured that.. I did find a small scratch right in the middle of the black piece between the headlight and the windshield.. Not a big deal..Man does that thing sound "SWEEEEEEEET" MM.
