Did all of you see the Yamaha Viper Turbo Deals??

I may have to get one. I friend of mine has an 8oo pro R and he keeps telling me how slow my new Viper is going to be compared to his. I cant let that happen, I need to make sure I can pop his big head!

Well a turbo will do that for you!

Don't take much to beat a pro r 800. A buddy of mine has a 2013 switchback and I spanked up on him all year with a stock viper with clutching. They're by far the slowest 800 out there.

Well that might not be all true with everyone. I watched Yamadog race a stock Viper with his stock 800 Pro R switchback and he beat the Stock Viper pretty good. Not saying anything bad about the Viper, but it did happen.

I wonder if this kit will come with gauges? Also why only a 45hp gain when other turbos like Push say they run 210hp on pump gas???

This is a non innercooled kit which means a little more risk of detonation because the air is not cooled and plus they want to offer it with a warranty so they aren't going to push the limits of it

This kit is a great buy in for those that want a reliable 180 hp kit. Just set it at 4.5 lbs of boost and ride it! Stock horsepower is the lower line in the graph below, top line is SR Viper LTX @ 4.5 psi of boost! A 25 hp gain at the track is huge!

A intercooler will drop the intake temps 40 to 60 degrees (the intercooler is worth 3 to 5 hp at 6 psi). A non-intercooled kit will have managable intake temps up to 6 psi, above that I would recommend an intercooler.

It's kind of funny cause me and Tom were just talking about making a kit that has 4-5 pounds of boost and don't allow the rider to adjust the boost. So you won't have to run gauges. Just run good fuel. And boom it came out. Funny!! When I first rode mine with 3.5 pounds of boost you could tell it was a real healthy 1049! So 10 more HP should be just fine. Should be just turn key and go. You might still want gauges, but you prolly wouldn't need them. This is what Yamaha should of done from go. But I guess it has to be tested over and over!! So this should be firmly in the 800 class sled!!

So it seems to me it might cause a delema for us buying a 2015 and wanting to turbo it... Do you go with the Yamaha Dealer turbo kit and have factory warranty but limited HP or do you go with a different turbo for similar cost and lose warranty but gain innercooler, gauges, and HP??? Hmmm ...

Well that all depends on how fast you want to go. With this MPI turbo and Allens clutching, this might be the ticket. Its safe, you dont really have to mess around adjusting anything and it will still have 180HP. So you will be ahead of most of the sleds. No matter what you do there will always be someone faster! So somewhere you will have to stop...lol...The intercooler is not that big of a deal with 4.5 pounds of boost. Its just weird how my turbo was rated at 190HP and i was running 6 pounds of boost. Prolly just being modest...Oh well its still going to be fast. I dont really run into very many sleds that have really any mods, mostly pipes cans and clutching. Now the Turbo Cats is one sled you might want to stay away from...lol

I've been waiting for this moment! Fianlly a turbo kit that won't void my warranty. I called the dealer, they said they don't have any info or pricing on it yet but will let me know when they do.
