My dealer is installing and adjusting the weights to MPI's specs for free as part of the snow check special. I paid full list, so it makes it more worthwhile. I've heard up to 16 hrs install time for someone new, but that just seems absurd to me. Especially if your paying shop rate!!

Stage 1 kit was 9 hours and that included installing boost and afr gauges. This trail kit should be a very quick install for any dealer with a decent service department

It would be really nice if they offered this to us 2014 guys who took the initial risk on a brand new platform. But, they already have our money so theirs no incentive on their end.

That is true but at the same time for us 2014 snowcheck guys, we did get a lot of stuff..2015 guys got nothin. It's not like they're giving them the turbo..they gotta buy it..they're giving them a price break, very similar to the jacket, roller bag and complete service kit which was given to us.

Plus you got all the bragging rights of having a first year sledIt would be really nice if they offered this to us 2014 guys who took the initial risk on a brand new platform. But, they already have our money so theirs no incentive on their end.

True, I did get a cool camera.
And a cool sled.
Just saying at 2200 bucks I would seriously consider going turbo. Probably better/safer for me if the price of a turbo stays high.

Yhe trail turbo they had at haydays will take 8 hours to install. IMO

With the 45HP from turbo what does that bring the total HP to? Also, having never driven a turbo sled how will the throttle response feel. I assume mid range pull will be stout.
Lastly, are clutching changes required beyond the changes they make for MPI turbo?
How would Ulmers changes in clutch differ?

This is a 180hp kit. It will have way more power EVERYWHERE! Clutching will def need to be changed!
I have a question. Two equal hp turbo sleds one viper one ac turbo. In a race with equal traction and drivers who wins? Does the 3 cylinder beat the two?

What are the down sides of adding this turbo offer? Is there any more wear due to the turbo? Besides clutch work is there anything else needed to harness the power on the track etc...?

From what I've heard, the 1049 is much more responsive than the 1100 when they are both boosted. From the little bit I drove mine so far you can feel the power is right there. I think it has more throttle response with the turbo than it did stock. Beauty of the arctic cat is for $250 u flash the ecu and gain 60 hp..can't beat that kinda gain

Last year at the end of the season there was a trail/turbo race in Wisconsin. You had to ride a 20 or 30 mile trail course to prove that you were a true trail sled. Many did not finish that portion of the race due to the sleds being too harsh to ride. Of the sleds left to race 1st and second place went to re-flashed xf-1100's. They beat several boosted Apex's and Nytros I don't think there were any Vipers there. I was signed up but as usual mine could not make the race due to broken limiter straps.
I have run itno guys on the trails with them, even one that was a dealer that told me they were at 265 hp after re-flash ( I asked to see dyno sheets but no one had any). I beat 2 of them in impromtu races with mine at only 6#'s of boost. They are a lot slower off the line but come on hard after about 40 mph. One guy kept complaining he had no traction the other kept on going and never came back to get his buddies.
The guy that was a dealer agreed to run me but I was on my Pro R and had to go get the Viper (now at 9#'s) but when I left to go get it he was on the lake where were to race with the side panels open and a large black spot in the snow under his sled - he blew up!

I'm sure biggest problem there is setup. I've driven 220hp 1100 turbos that are setup well and they flat out rock. May not be as snappy as the 1049 but in a race if an 1100 is setup well they're hard to beat, procross chassis that is, the z1 takes a long time to build up and go
