Did you guys see the new Cat Catalyst?

I'm a fan of the updates. Sled looks to be a contender for the 600 class. Which I always thought the 600 class to be the bread & butter for all the manufacturers, in terms of cost & popularity (overall sales)
If Yamaha & Cat we're to continue their relationship, all Yamaha would need is one new Catalyst chassis & 30 days to figure things out.
No different then what happened with the Procross. Remember all that crap we heard from others...."but it was never meant to have a 4 stroke in it, it will never work." Lol. Whatever.....

New EFI system ! Hopefully better mileage and oil consumption.
THIS could be a bigger improvement then most think.. I find the fuel mapping has been lacking over the last few years on the 800 for sure.. 600 is decent, but I just flashed my 8000.

but I just flashed my 8000.
Wise move. Those things had some spark knock down low that was concerning enough on mine to get the PEFI flash. It ran smoother and cleaner.

No. give me what I need, MPH, RPM, ODO, Trip, boost
Exactly. Do it on an lcd display that’s ez to see and I’m good to go. Lcd is cheap enough where I can see the positives to using it but no need to have a tablet with wifi

I tend to agree with this statement, but some people REALLY want this "Big Screen" and if a manufacture doesn't supply it then they are behind & losing customers.
I'd rather put that money in the gas tank

It appears thar Cat trademarked "Catalyst" back in April. The whole "name the chassis" thing was a farce, lol. Well, maybe it will be shared with Yamaha as the Yamalyst?

They explained it in some article. Catalyst was one of a short list of reserved names. Standard practice is to file for a trademark as soon as you have a name you think you will use. If you end up not using it (cannot show active use) it will be denied registration by the USPTO. They had multiple consumers submit catalyst so it became the name. Whether or not they always intended to use the name or not isn't really important as any marketing is an improvement over what they (and Yamaha) have been doing.

Thank you for the clarification. Makes sense. Certainly a better name than the "F Series" twin spar platform.

I can’t confirm cause I can’t find the article. I’ve read everything I could find on new chassis and one of the things said contract was extended to 2025 with Yamaha. Now they didn’t say if 998 would be in new chassis but I would think they would keep procross around for a bit for this engine and certain other models.
