How's this idea for you starting fluid lovers.......drill a hole in your airbox at such an angle that the starting fluid nozzle will spray into the carbs. Once she fires, use a grommet to close up the hole. Using this type of setup when fogging/winterizing a couple of outboard motors I've had in the past.

i like it and at the same time i dont, if you had a backfire like he did and you were putting it through a small hole you would definitely blow that airbox up completely maybe even damage the engine, plus your not 100% sure its all making it into the throat, with enough practice and a small amount of fluid it would prob be ok but just gotta be careful. and plug the hole up after with a plug or somethingHow's this idea for you starting fluid lovers.......drill a hole in your airbox at such an angle that the starting fluid nozzle will spray into the carbs. my thoughts were adding an inline marine style fuel primer bulb. between the tank and the pump. this is exactly how a Yamaha marine carbed 4 stroke engine is set up. as for as a check valve, yes it has one inside, if it didn't you squeeze it and it would pump back into the tank. i see no reason this would not work. my sled is not near by but i will try this mod next weekend.

Hello fellow forum members....I'm new to this forum and decided to do a search after experiencing the same "no start" condition when I tried to fire up the sled this summer. It had been sitting for a couple of months in an enclosed trailer and no doubt the summer temps inside the trailer caused the fuel evaporation issue. I just purchased the sled late in the season this year (an 06 RS Venture with 2500 km on it) and I only had one ride on it before the snow was gone. I ended up disassembling the fuel pumps thinking that they had dried up. But with a little quick start, it fired up and ran fine. I really don't like using quick start on any engine so now that I've learned about blowing on the vent tube - all is good. Great information here for a new owner. Thanks!
