A buddy of mine has a F7 Nightfire which is all black. It's powder coated and not painted. Hasn't worn a spot in it yet.
My SRX had a blue tunnel, the blue wore through in spots (got wrecked so now it's black with a polished tunnel). My 05 ER has a unpainted tunnel and even then U can see where my boots usually are as it marks up the aluminum and gets dull/scratched. Same with my SRX now.
As for the GT.. love the black tunnel and no matter what color it is or no color at all, it's gonna get worn.

How quickly you forget. Had to really careful when riding the SRX and even then it got scratched. Unpainted is easier to keep it looking clean.
Very true, I couldn't have said it better.

Yes there are boot marks, but they are only scuffs. It doesn't look as bad on plain aluminum whereas paint looks awful.

Also, Yamaha probably won't powdercoat it.

To the top.
Don't like the black tunnel, but don't really care for the looks of the rest of this sled either. But, I do like the idea of being able to upgrade into what it sounds are about $1,400-$1,500 worth of shocks, on an after-market basis, for $900. Now, if they'd just offer the GT in the tradtional blue or offer the same type of upgrade on the er or the Attak, I'd be a happy camper.

Paint it!!! This is not an 81 Blizzard!
don't like scratches?? use a floorboard mat.

hmmmmm, paint job, new graphics, polished tunnel, new seat....
If I was willing to do that, think the er/attak + shock upgrade would be the better route by far.
Sledding certainly is an expensive hobby - nice to find extra value where you can. Seems like the GT package may be one, but only if you dig the black. Seems like an unnecessary choice.

painted aluminum tunnel=4 TO 5 lbs of paint.
I would rather have the mill finish tunnel. Sled would look just as cool. :ORC
