Rumors flying around team Yamaha that the SnoX sled will be totally different from what has been traveling around the country at snowmobile events. What do you think it will be:
A. Current Nytro chassis with upgrades
B. Apex chassis
C. A version of the Phazer Chassis
Either way, I hope we see them cross this first!![Flag :flag: :flag:](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/flag.gif)

Well they only have one choice of motor and that's the 3 holer. So given that, it isn't gonna be the phazer chassis as it is designed now. They already used the phazer front end on last years Nytro based sled that they ran in snocross. So, unless they are gonna widen the phazer chassis and stick the Nytro motor in it, I suspect it's gonna be the same as last year and it's gonna get creamed because its WAY heavier then the 600 2 strokes in that devision. Also, if they have the parts and technology to stick the 120 HP motor in the phazer chassis and they didn't offer it as a production sled this year, I'd be pretty pissed if I just bought a phazer with 80 HP. Sounds like internet hype to me. With the vector based triple, I don't see ANY chassis working in the 600 snocross class. It's just too damn heavy. You can't expect to give up 100 lbs on a 130 HP machine and compete.

Look at this thread. Looks like the Nytro will be in the Phazer chassis.

Actually, I lifted up the nose of several phazers this past weekend at the local Yammi dealer. It is freakin heavy for a 500 lb machine. If they stick the 3 holer in there and jump it, they better have a handful of throttle or it's gonna face plant pretty bad. I couldn't believe how heavy the front end was. Also, where have we seen the 3 holer putting out 150 HP?? First I've heard of it. The racer here in the states was 130, not 150. If it had 150 HP, WE would have had it here last year too.

WOW, good info. Well this puts a lot of rumors to rest. Its gonna be the same Nytro/Vector based sled they ran last year. No Phazer chassis. I really want Yamaha to be strong, but I just can't see it happening on that sled. I really, really wish I could.............

I know for a fact that they will be racing a new model (possible next year production) in that early part of 2007. For the first few races they will most likly run modifed Nytro's. I've been talking with Robbie (Yamaha's main rider) and he says the new sled come into the country 2 weeks ago but they are still doing some serious testing on it. It is based on the Phazer skid, with a bigger motor and different front end. (maybe the new Nytro)

Well why the Hell didn't they get it ready BEFORE they enter into the WPSA and fall on their face? It really gives Yamaha a bad reputation. Let's be honest, if they have a team of engineers working on a legit race sled (?????), it would come together in no time. With Yamaha's resources they could built a whole new sled in weeks. If a nascar team can fabricate a complete racecar in 10 days from a pile of raw metal, Yamaha can build a friggin sled that is light and durable ONTIME!

Not only Yamaha is doing this. Apparently Skidoo will be releasing the 2nd generation Rev midseason as well.
