darv said:Sasquatch if you buy the one that comes with the extra braces they work very well in that area like the one they recommend for the 136 you will have to cut a little off the main brk that the wheel mounts too. They will give you more support for that extra wheel if need I can post the part #.
Part number would be great! Pictures would be even greater! Does Yami have any?

Sorry Sasquatch, I thought you were refering to the same small wheels and location as mine?
It seems odd they can't take the abuse back there but if I am going to have issues or have a bearing go down or need regreasing first, it always seems to be the rear inner ones for some reason?
I notice the same with my XLT too.

irv , I noticed you have the 4th wheel kit and the marginal snow kit listed as add ons. I always thought they were the same thing. if they are not the same could you tell me the difference?

preacher a 4th wheel kit adds an extra wheel to the rear axle (the one you adjust the track with) marginal snow wheeles are like little boogie wheels that you add to the rails to help extend slide life.

Hey thanks. I have the marginal snow kit on our 3 attaks . We have the larger wheels and I can't remember the last time we needed hyfax. I snochecked a 14 XTX and do you think I will need the 4th wheel kit as well as the marginal snow kit

What Thor said Preacher.
Read where it helps keep the track aligned better etc for aggressive trail riding.
When I updated all my wheels with 2010 models, I decided then to get it and the marginal snow wheel kit as well.

I like it.from the picture it looks like it could only help keep the track aligned .Did you have to drill out your rail to install the 4th wheei. it seems that a long track like the XTX would benefit tremendously from the 4th wheel unless it already comes with the XTX

The fourth wheel kit requires no drilling. It comes with the alternate axle spacers and goes together easily using the existing axle bolt and slotted holes in the slide rails. The marginal snow wheel kit does require drilling mounting holes in the slide rails. I have both kits (and Dupont slides) on my Apex.

Preacher, you can purchase the whole kit or just purchase an extra wheel like I did then cut your spacer.
Just read the instructions carefully as there are 2 different lengths depending on application.
Got this from the TY TECH link above under suspension.

I bought mine from Yamaha but you can just buy the wheel and cut your own spacers as Irv said.
I guess that we got off topic here. Back to the Dupont slides, I think that they are excellent however I wish they had a wear line to make it easy to know when to replace them.
From what I have heard once the inserts fall out the base material wears extremely fast. Therefore since the insert is said to be 5 mm thick the slide will need replacement prior to 5 mm of wear.

Do you have pics of the extra braces? What is the part number?
