Dynoray - when you refer to a TFI, are you talking about fuel accelerator's?

Yes.
Ray
You say you have a hauck exhaust and his fuel regulator,i am waiting on his fuel regulator, but i understand it only add fuel in the 3 areas low,mid and top, woodys performance has my sled now and just added haucks 3 degree key for advance w/the hauck pipe i already had on,and as i stated we are waiting on his excellerator or fuel regulator whatever he wants to call it,do you think sense you are doing some testing that the lean spot on bottom end that i get now, will be fixed with his box,and will it add some more power for the top end now w/the key plus box. Thanks Pete

Well, if the base setings (which Haucks are) are leaner then stk, you can go from a little leaner to alittle richer.
We haven't done any tesing on a stk motor, just a few breakins and a couple of baseline runs.
Our modded motors are going rich on the bottom.
Becarefull on the Dyno, field settings and Dyno setting vary quite a bit on top. There is some ram air effect there.
You'll need to run richer settings in the field then on the Dyno.

cams

no trouble ray all vales and springs back in just the phone wont stop some people want heat , i dont know why its only -25c here hummm just got home it an early nite its only midnite ;)!

Thanks ray for your input,a lot of guys tell me how talented you are,so i will hold your advise as gospel on my fuel settings,i wont be on anyones dyno anytime soon, unless i have you do up my motor lol now that would be sweet, later. Pete

Hey freddie, did it not work at all or just act up. We had one that would just go WAY rich when ever it wanted.
Ray

No lights at all Ray. Tested the red wire for power and it is there. It has a bad board.

UPDATE:

Paul had to pick his sled up today to go riding this weekend. I did end up getting EFO controller installed and working yesterday. (Wednesday) It definately adds fuel but I was told that this has the capabilit of removing fuel in certain areas. I fail to understand how this can be accomplished when the lowest setting on the face of the unit is zero. I have a call in Boss Noss tech, but they have yet to return my call.

The engine did make 143.7 HP when I enrichened the main jet porting of the EFI controller. I am certain however that this was simply due to the fact that we had "mineshaft" weather conditions yesterday. The correction factor was .980!

Paul said he will bring the sled back to ECP Monday or Tuesday next week. I will continue tuning then. I have some more ideas to try too!!!

Hey Freddie, yes you can only go richer, if the bass settings are set leaner then stk they you can go alittle leaner to a litle richer but if base settings are stock then you can only go richer.
The Apex EFI is giving us fit's, we just ran my RX with 39mm carbs at 200.6HP N/A on pumpgas, the Apex with our cams and porting makes 172 HP, add exhaust, ported Throttle bodies and mod airbox and we only get 178HP.
I guess we still have alot of testing to do on the Apex.
Ray

Update.....brought my sled back to Freddie on Thursday 2/16, sled now has 1262 miles on it.

He had to finish up some other projects and wouldnt be able to do any more testing until maybe Monday 2/20.

I am sure he will keep us all posted as to what he finds.

Dynoray

How are you adjusting the fuel settings on the Apex?

Hi Bluemax, we have been using the TFI, waiting for Boondocker to release their fuel controller, it's way more adjustable.
Ray

What is keeping you from increasing horsepower with the fuel injection setup if you can adjust fuel? The power commander works great on the fuel injected R1.
