ECP and EVAC

IMHO , We should leave the comments to the experts who take everything into consideration. Based on what they have said the lack of top end was cured by the clutching alone if everything else on your sled is set up properly. The EVAC kit adds one or two HP and may relieve the oilf blowback problem, IF YOu HAVE THIS PROBLEM.

Let's leave the comments to those who know what they are talking about and the rest of us keep silent and learn. ;)!

I saw 116 (speedo)@ 10,600 RPM on a virgin groomed trail - 03 SHORTY - h/hitters , SLV secondary spring @80 DEG, stk helix , ECP kit (no evac) 165 jets (I think ?) 192 STUDS , Simmons skis
This yr going to try a different helix / spring from simons (welter?) & maybe evac system, hope for improvement . What ideal RPM should I be at ? any other ideas? :flag:

Stock Warrior on Houghton Lake January 03 in perfect conditions I surpassed 130 on the dream-o-meter.

Something is wrong with your calender. There were no Warriors in January 03, unless you had a prototype....
Oops, I should have said last January :o|

I broke my 03 like this and had no issues....few hard pulls across the lake and then some throttle variations around the outside and then a few more hard pulls.

Guys, (Matt/BBY2000)we/I went through this last year and I personally experienced both ends of this issue with the ECP, Silver Spring, HH clutching setup. I ‘DID’ have a top end issue... The issue was it too long to get there with the ECP kit vs stock. I made some clutching adjustment and the 'took to long to get there' was gone. THERE IS NOT TOP END ISSUE WITH THE ECP KIT AS LONG AS YOU MAKE THE PROPER CLUTCHING ADJUSTMENTS... PERIOD!!!
If any of you would like to discuss this at length please feel free to give me a call on my cell: 585-737-1800

Thanks,

;)!

I agree with Greenmachine, why do people on this board seem so ready to listen to "joe snowmobile" (with who knows what knowledge he has about engines and/or clutching) when he comes out and says something doesn't work. Lets listen to the experienced and knowledgeable sledders on this site that check out and correct all the variables that can effect a sleds performance. Only once you do that can you truly say if a product works as advertised. :ORC
And to all you contributors, who truly know how to make a sled perform and graciously provide that information, I say THANK YOU !! :rocks:

jt, interesting question... The reason i say this is i talked to Matt yesterday (board at the airport, and retuning his call...), and he said the two of you discussed this issue...

If you would like to chat about it please feel free to give me a call tonight.

Thanks,

I am with JT on this one. I sure would like the info on this site as I have a set of these filters and want to hear the clutching tricks.....

Guys, if you are experiencing top end issues with your ECP filters, please call me or Mike Hyman. I am more that happy to share the setup with you. You may have the parts in your toolbox, if not we can help or at least give you some suggestions. Thanks...BBY
