I thought I'd provide an update for you.
I rode my sled yesterday for the first time with the (glasspack) single pipe. I must say the sled has never run better! I didn't miss my White Knuckle QC-1 pipe one bit.
My idle has never been better. My midrange pull is much improved. Throttle repsonse is better and my top end pull also seems better. I was pulling 10,100 climbing in deep heavy snow with my new 159 x 16 x 2 1/4" track while still geared and clutched for my 151 x 15 x 2.0" track. next rip I'll be pulling 10,500.
I left my carb setup the same as I had previously. I'll have to double check my setup book but I think it's 160 mains, 2,0 in the airscrews and the needles in #4.
The only nitpicky thing I can think of is perhaps there is a very slight bog (more of a miss) right off idle. Coudn't that be fixed with a slightly larger pilot jet?

Good news to hear Frosty!

Back....
Wow, I haven't been on TY in awhile and am glad to see that this glasspack/ECP combo is working out for everyone... Needless to say that I haven't been on here, since my sled has been running like a champ! I still get suprised sometimes by how the power keeps coming and coming. My only gripe is that my glasspack is starting to get louder and louder which is expected.... I might weld another new one in for next winter. I made the mistake of going with an attack 20 track expecting lots of snow... instead I just slide around on the hardpack. I plan on moving up to a 162 next year... possibly with an M7 skid, and am curious if anyone has any suggestions for clutching to match my setup? I know Freddie has some great kits and will probably just have him set me up. If anyone is riding with this setup I'd be eager to hear how its been.

Just re-wrap the baffle coldwater. Make sure you use 4 stroke baffle wrap.

Ok first off, Supertuner. Mine is getting louder all the time too. How do you rewrap the baffle inside the pipe?
Coldwater, I have a M7 rear skid and a 159 right now. I use heavy hitters with a shock wave adjustable helix. My primary spring is O/S/O and my primary weights are darn near empty now (except for the 3/4" Allen in the heel and the 3/8 steel bolt in the mid) to give me more adjustability with my RPM with the shcokwave heilx.
I use a silver secondary spring at 80 degrees.

Frosty,
I know all the sportbike exhaust systems have either bolt in or rivet in baffles. If they are aluminum, remove by cutting and then make it removable by adding bolts or rivets. Or you could have it TIG welded back in. I have 4 stroke baffle wrap in stock and the capability to fabricate pretty much anything to make it removable. Let me know if I can help.

The midrange is the greatest gain in power. Depending on how good your engine dyno's in stock form with the airbox, you will gain 17 to 22 HP with my air kit. Add my velocity rings and pick up another 6 to 7 HP through midrange!

Do you think its possible, if i order a Set of Velocity Ring to have them before March 31th ?
Its the Biggest Outlaw Evening here... "Jambon-Creton'' Party. I would like to have them installed before.
Thanks
More midrange is always good.

Yes, I noticed last evening in my tuning notes that the midrange with the single pipe is much better. I just LOVE the way the sled pulls now.
I also noticed my carbeuration was just about perfect while the temps were in the 20 and 30s. I then rode when it was much warmer in the mountains and the mid range burble showed up again in the mid range and the carbeuration seemed fat with my 160 mains.

Back in the old days Yamaha had adjustable main jets on the 340 and 440 SRX 2 strokes. Perhaps something like that would be needed for you mountain riders!

Freddie, that's what my Holtzman ATACC is supposed to do I thought? Maybe the 60 degree temps were just more than it can compensate. I have been very happy with the way it worked except for the very spring like day.
Freddie, is there any more news on your single pipe exhaust?

Freddie, when and if you need test pilots please keep me in mind!
I'd be honored to have ECP stickers and pipe on my sled to go along with my ECP filters, velocity rings and overfilter powder covers.
