Looking for some help. New stator and voltage regulator installed but battery not charging. Got into it tonight and found this. Look familiar? Stator and voltage regulator are to spec and working, so I suspect it's a wire that I have to find somewhere thats not taking the charge to the battery.

That’s just a clip to
half-assed secure a section of the wiring harness.

Were OEM parts used or were they aftermarket such as RM Stators?
That clip secures the wiring harness from out of the stator. It attaches with the very top bolt of the stator cover.

RM. It does work fine with the new voltage regulator. Getting 14.5 +- volts outputWere OEM parts used or were they aftermarket such as RM Stators?
Check the voltage right at the battery terminals when the sled is not running and ignition is on then start the sled and check the voltage again right at the battery.
Engine off it should read just over 12 volts
Engine on it should typically read over 13
If the voltage reading is higher when the engine is running and battery is still not charging IMO you need a new battery.
Voltage at the battery is only real way to test the complete system.
Defective batteries and bad battery connections can fool even the best techs.

Voltage at battery, not running is over 12 volts. Running its under 12. Typically 11.5. Does not increase with higher rpms and decreases slightly while running. Voltage at regulator output is 14.5 + or-. Checked all the wires for ground and power and continuity is fine. Totally puzzlingCheck the voltage right at the battery terminals when the sled is not running and ignition is on then start the sled and check the voltage again right at the battery.

Only thing I have left to check mow is the output connection to see what's going on there.
New stator with proper specs, new voltage regulator, new battery.
Sounds like a wiring harness issue. The Apexs were notorious for ground block issues so I would start there. I have heard the wiring harness that runs along the frame just above the clutches can also be a problem area.

With the machine not running and even with the switches in the off position do you have 12 volts at the rectifier red and black wires?
