Was cleaning my clutches and forgot to turn off the brake before going for my first drive of the year. I was running it for 20mins before i realized it was on. Does it operate on the same pads or is it different,,, whats the worst damage i caused?

It doesn't use the same pads. As far as damage caused, I don't know. I've never done that.

You could overheat and warp the rotor.

Probably no damage other then the park pads are worn some now. If you had damaged the rotors ie warped them or anything like that you would have know by now. Just inspect the rotor for warpage and cracks. Park brake pads may need replacing if they are worn thin. Minimum they probably need to be adjusted again. They are not like the hydrolic brakes so they would only have a small clamping force so I don't think any damage has been done to the rotor.
P.S. I once left the park brake on for a few miles before I felt it with my hand. No damage was done other then the park brake sucked till I adjusted it.

They sell the E-Brake pads seperately if they need to be replaced.

At the most I would say a bit of worn pads and maybe a flat spot of the drive belt. Check the drive belt, if it looks good you should be fine. Might need to adjust the parking brake.

If you don't have a vibration when braking, check the brake rotor for cracks because it could have got pretty hot if adjusted properly. No cracks, see if it still holds, if not adjust, if it holds enjoy the ride.

Your belt is most likely toast will cause a jerky start and vibration at all speeds.

I had someone do that on my SRX a few years back when they were riding it. The bushing in the fixed sheave on the primary cutch ended up coming out towards the removable sheave...along with cooking the belt.
What others said. E-Brake has small separate pads in the E-brake mechanism. I would inspect the brake rotor to see if it is grooved or warped.

I puchased them a couple of years ago for my 06. It's an OEM part. I will post when I get home if you are interested.

thanks guys.
It makes sense they are a different pads if its on a cable. I did notice it had a bit of drag on deceleration. But because it was my first ride this year i thought i was being picky. I didnt smell or burn the belt that i knowticed. Thats why i forgot it was left on.... i guess it wasnt all that good to begin with. Ill make an adjustment on it. rotor is fine... as after i turned off the ebrake the reg brakes worked great as normal.

Go in your wife's bathroom, grab red nail polish and paint the underside of the parking brake red,,,, then return nail polish fast before she finds out
