I have 2009 RTX SE that had the track tear on 3 sides of a double stud section and the studs wore two grooves in the heat exchanger Saturday, which then caused the temp light to come on, thought it was the normal run in the powder to get it to go off. The sled the shut itself off. Flipped it on it's right side, oil was then dripping out the belly pan. Took the belt off and towed it back home.
Now that I have it torn down to have the exchanger welded, started it for a sec to get it off the trailer and it has an error code 30 flashing on the display so I shut it right down. Looked up the code and it low oil pressure. I then looked all over for a leak, don't see one on the engine itself anywhere. Checked the oil res and it was super low so I added oil. Started it up again and no code, but the breather going into the air box started spitting a little oil, which then turned to a steady pour. What would cause the oil to flow to the air box in a steady stream from the res? What should the psi be if I pressure test the cylinders?

Sounds like you could have overheated it so bad that the compression is being pushed back into the case past the rings... it may need to be torn down to see if the Cylinders and rings are trashed. I would start with e leak down test to see if it will hold pressure.

Would a compression test tell us anything? Never done a leak down, how hard is it to find top dead center?

yeah, I apologize, posted under general at first and then realized it probably should be in the tech section

Little update from last night. Drained the oil and filled it to the low line because the engine was not warm. No more puking of oil. I don't have a leak down tester and my compression tester does not have the right thread adapter for the tiny plugs that are in these units. The temp sensor wire along with a couple others were melted to block. The temp sensor was the only one that actually melted through the heat shrink and into the wire, this is what was causing the error code 30. Welder is welding the heat exchanger tonight or tomorrow afternoon and I will then pressure test the coolant system once its up to temp to see if there are any gasket or warped head issues. Hopefully everything will be ok, makes me nervous knowing it was hot enough to melt the temp wire to the block.
Thanks MrSled and canoehead for helping get this far!!!
