I'm sure this has happened to others...just wanted to get some ideas of what can be done for repair/replacement.

Wow that part is replace with the muffler assembly at $770 for new. I would weld in a couple of flex joints.

Yeah there's no way I'm replacing the entire muffler assembly. Going that route is exactly what I was thinking of doing. Just having to find them in the right size.

At that price I would get a full Hindle system for it which eliminate those god dang flex pipes.

I already have an aftermarket muffler, and a bung welded into the pipe for the O2 sensor, I'm not going to purchase a complete aftermarket system. Just looking for ideas to repair the current issue.

Exhaust

Not a idea for fixing but just remember that is right below the gas tank and you can't have them exhaust gasses shooting towards the gas tank as that will not turn out well. I have a similar issue start melting my tank on my nytro luckily I caught it in time.

I've personally ridden it only once before I discovered the crack, not sure how long it's been cracked. I put some header wrap around it, then a band clamp around that to help seal it in the meantime until I get it fixed.

So I did a bunch of searching online, and stopped in quite a few parts stores around...and I can't find any place that has those flex joints small enough. Most car/truck parts stores can only go 1 7/8" diameter, some 1 3/4". Online I can only find a place that has them at 1 1/2", which is still too big.

So, anyone have any other ideas (other than buying a whole new exhaust)

Buy the 1 1/2 then take your pipe to a muffler shop and have the swell pipe to fix the pipe.

ha

That parts that are shown in the pic, are those aftermarket replacements for the flex section?

Never had a issue with the flex part but mine broke off right at flange at head. TIG welded and closed tunnel in front to keep giant ice chunks from beating the heck out of exhaust and 10000mi later never a problem. If I replaced those flex joints I would use Nytro flex pipes.

How about something like this. Available from 3/8" to 2".

Flex

Not sure on pricing and if it will work on exhaust. You'll have to call.

No worries man. Once I figure out what pieces I'm gonna use, I'll get with ya.

Can you buy the nytro flex pipes separately from the rest of the exhaust? Are they they same diameter as the ones on the phazer?

That being pipe thread I think the metal will be too thick to be welded. Poking around on their site it looks like all their stuff is for fluid transfer.
