as some ff you know, I been doing lot of research on the viper. I finally got to test drive one yesterday.
loved the sled!! Only problem i could find was the darting (it was a 2014) but that could be resolved. been out of it for a few years and last sled was a 2005 vector.
I went into this thinking i new what a 3 banger Yamaha engine was like. I was very impressed with the engine this was my first time on the 1049 engine . It defiantly not the old vector engine , now i know why the 1049 took over the most of the line up, sled has so much power up to the top with i never got it past 85 and it was still pulling, I was trying to get there just run out of ground. But my riding style has never demanded more than 120 Hp.
Ride was perfect on this thing.
I looked this thing over with a fine tooth come, and i will say the fit and finish was ok , but was not what you used to seeing on a Yamaha I don't think the hand warmers got that warm. I forgot to try out heated seat, not sure if the model i drove had it.
But the fun factor was way above what i am used to.
Before the ride i was thinking this or the vector, But the fun factor makes me think this might be the ride for me.
I still have not been on a vector with power steering Might get that done next weekend.
Like to find a good deal on a 2014 base viper. I had found one at a great price but when we got down to it they would not sell it for that. maybe a used one is in my future, but might check price on snow checking a 2016

Our Vipers are the best best sleds we have ever owned, even before they are dialed into your liking and riding style they are still better then all the rest out of the box. Pull the trigger I don't think you will regret it. Fun factor is off the charts!
