Fit and finish, who cares!

I don't think it's a BS category...in my business (Home Building) I see it all different ways, guys do poor quality framing and dress it up with nice trim, guys that just suck and shouldn't be in business and the guys that do it right, don't cut corners and finish the job without leaving anything undone. If you're willing to let the consumer see sharp unfinished trim what do you think might be unfinished underneath? I don't care to stare at my sled on the trailer either but I want the damn thing to get me back to the trailer and without a blown $250 belt! I'd also like to be able to back it off the trailer....
Very good points........

Suckur - You must be like Hitler and only ride your ugly sled at night. Just kidding. Beautiful ride you have.

Guys, it has Yamaha on the side of it, going to be built and inspected to Yamaha standards. It will be fine. Stop worrying about it. Nobody has seen a final production model yet. My gosh.......

Nice sled! It's good you have some black on it or you could lose it in the snow. :)

Haha, thanks for the props guys. She's pretty all right, and powerful too. 165 HP going to a 2.25" x 141" track. Smokes like the devil though. It's ridiculous how much this thing stinks it up. I call the black spot it leaves the "carbon footprint".

My buddy's Cat Pro-climb sleds were nice enough. I was more interested in how they rode and handled than how "pretty" they were. My Vector was beautiful when I first got it. To make it work better I tore a bunch of the shrouds and crap off to fit a rider forward steering post and then a Boss seat. My Nytro had a gap around the steering post from the OFT relocator. I didn't care about the appearance, I wanted better performance. I think the majority of buyers in the sled world rank performance above "fit and finish".

Those that don't can just deal with sitting at the bottom of the hill or bringing up the rear of every trail ride on their older, genuine Yamaha models.

I think this Viper will be a heck of a sled. It isn't perfect, I'd like to see the exhaust changed so it didn't U-turn under the tank but that would require a new head for the motor and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Who cares about fit and finish? I do I mostly leave my sleds stock and contrary to what some say on here I am never at the bottom of a hill or come in dead last on evry trail ride. I guess I have learned to ride with the way the sled operates and not change things and make the sled do it.

Funny thing...this thread is about guys who don't give a $hit about how their sled looks...one thread away they're buying $300 graphic kits!!!?WTF!

The graphics at least on white tunnel may help "keep" it looking good with less effort.Only reason I will get one.sure do like that pic of the Painted Turbo though. My painted panels on Phazer are hammered but still look better than factory plastic to me. Actually similar look to the Viper. Once plastic gets beat up on Viper I will get it painted.

I believe you are still riding an RX-1, correct?

Glad the viper came out cause it made me think about addons to my current apex so that I can hold out and see where they take the apex motor.
