flat spot on driven roller

FWIW after looking at mine after 500 miles they are fine. I thought they looked like they were flat spotting after the first day but when I checked today all is good. Out of curiosity, the people with flat spotted ones, what is your secondary spring set at?

All rollers flat spotted, secondary came with spring at 40 degrees. Installing new rollers tomorrow and going to 60 degree wrap on spring and testing this weekend.

Ok nobody tried that yet... I'm going in a trip on this week end. Should I take the guest to remplace it before or stay with oem flatted spot to be sure ?

stock setting, never been touched, 112 miles
I get you haven't touched it. Some seem to be showing up with the secondary set up wrong. You need to look at what the spring is in helix then pull the helix and see where it is seated in the secondary. It should be 3-3 from the factory some are showing up 3-1. Mine was 6-1 when I got it. The dealer might have changed it though. I have a theory on the issue but I'm trying to find out what the ones with issues are set at.

When I ran Doos, which didn't have the tortional spring in the secondary, I would shatter stock rollers all the time. When you would lock it up in a corner then slam back into the throttle it would pull the rollers away from the helix them smash them back into it. If our secondary's are coming with light settings I think this might be happening and denting the rollers. Once you dent them they just ride that spot and flat spot them. I don't see any other reason other than a supplier issue that can cause some people to be having the issue and others not.

Yes at 40. 3 and 1. Using a good flashlight I could see the numbers on the sheave and which hole spring was in with the clutch installed.

Mine is 6 and 1... stock from the dealer

Can anything go wrong if riden with flat spots on the rollers ?
Eventually you will wear through them and probably destroy they helix. The worst pic I saw was at 500 miles and had a while to go before that. I would think it would wear the helix a little unless the rollers are made from something softer than the helix.

just put the rollers in. forgot to bring them in for pic. didn't pull it apart, just off the sled. if you are looking at number by roller on sheave, it is spring in 3, above #1 roller. never did a clutch before. if i need to pull it apart i'll have to figure a way to hold the tension. still off the sled.
