For those who ride with gauntlets

After reading all the posts about the hand warmers I think I am going to ride with a set of gauntlets. I am curious who has taken the bar ends off and ridden like this. I haven’t been out on the sled yet so it is hard to say if the small area to grip will be enough. Are there gauntlets that will fit with the bar ends attached? Thoughts?

Of all the gauntlets, I like the ones skidoo sells best. Bluedog ran with those last hear, and he had hooks, said they worked fine with the hooks.

Do the SkiDoo ones say SkiDoo where you can see it? Also, you think its worth buying plastic hooks myself since they don't eat up the heat?

I see you live in/near Kenosha... this winter sucks. :drink:

I tried a set from SkinZ that are much smaller than regular guantlets. (www.skinzprotectivegear.com) Just out. Worked well on Apex. I ended up adding a piece of soft wire to top & bottom to hold them open a little more. I have not had a chance to try them with the wire. These are deffinetly easier to get in & out of than guantlets. Go on with Velcro. Hooked up a little funky at tips, but worked OK with bar ends.

I've got an old pair of "BagMan"s that work pretty well on my RTX when I feel the need .... I like to use 'em when it's really cold with just a thin pair of MX gloves !!!!

Katahdin makes set that fits the apexes. I use them on my Attak with no problem

I have these gauntlets and they are great. the end that goes on the bars even opens wide enough to put over my powermadd handgaurds and the bars then velcros shut and cinches tight with a elastic/velcro strap. Very nice gauntlets

I have the same type. These fit well and seem to work well.

I really like the shallow design. Fit both my Apex GT & F7.

I would suggest some flexible plastic inserts to stiffen them up a little. Otherwise, nice design.

Will these actually help keep your hands warm? I guess they could but it couldn't be too cold or they wouldn't IMO.

Or these?

seen some guys take an old jacket and cut the sleeves off then duct tape the cuff side to handle bars. Ive bought some of the off the shelf type but the handle bar controls were too big for gauntlet openings to slide over.
