I believe that is the idea of the Extra volume (evol) chamber to give more air volume to allow a more linear shock travel that can still can ramp up the stiffness as travel approaches bottom. On a side note clickers would be awesome lol.

Well maybe for you and that's great! But I'm 100 pounds heavier than you. I don't think they are worth the money for a trail rider. Coil over shocks for that. Float evol r I gave a thought about. I have talked with plenty of shock guys and they say the same thing, I know your good at setting them up, but most are not and you almost need a mech to come with you to adjust them to your liking. Just cant see them being good at both. I mean you would lose so much ride height to get them soft. And never use the travel you payed good money for!

What is the valving like on the new float 3 shocks? I know for myself, my sled rode about the best with the floats at 100psi. I have zipties on my shocks to show how much they have traveled and after a weekend of riding, even at 100psi, I have bottomed the front end out..the only problem is that on small chop it is terrible and for as much as I line up to race guys the higher psi causes so much ski pressure that is slows the sled down some in the midrange and a lot on top speed so I keep mine at 75..atleast for the time being until I get my zero pros on. Even without clickers, I'm sure the zero pro shocks are going to be a big improvement especially with the dual rate springs.

For next year I'm going to do a lot of research and get a set of 4 clicker shocks. I want to adjust on the fly. Easy not a long process. I was starting to like my setting a lot more the more miles it got on it. So who knows, maybe even look at the Evols. Cannondale has good info and if he likes them maybe not as hard as I thought they we to tune. Yamadog has them too, but his ride height is just so low. Can't see how he could jump already half way through the travel.

Tim you use the main chamber to set ride hieght and the clickers and Evol to prevent bottoming and dial in handling. Its very easy to get them set way better than the regular floats. My weight isnt the factor. Like I said I ordered these shocks right from factory as overstocks they were XC valved for a 600 snopro. Nothing was set for my weight and surely not for my riding style. They are just that adjustable.

Right on, I'll do some looking...cause I want some adjustability with my shocks all 4 of them!


I do agree with you guys if just trail riding a good coilover has proven to be best. But for those of us trailriding and always on the lookout for big bumps or a nice jump these Evols work awesome and I would spend the $ again. Now on my Phazer I do still have the Soqi coilovers but they are valved and resprung. Work great also but not as well as the Evols. The Hi/Low adjuster is really the key I believe.

Thanks for contacting us. The Dual Pressure reservoirs are probably the best modification that can be made to your Float 3’s to give them some real, usable adjustability to improve the ride. We have a few prototype sets out for testing right now. The production version should be available in time for next riding season.
