Ya, I have a feeling that would be sweet! But the Ohlins offers a sweet ride too!

I am sold on the Floats after having them on my RX.

I LOOOOOVE EMMMM

Ya me 2, I just sold the GTYR's and installed Float 2's on the Attak. Now I have them on the fronts of both my sleds, with Ohlins in the rear on the skid on both. For me it's a toss up between Ohlins and and Float 2/Evol's....

Agreed RoyalBlue........ The anti-float crowd always throws out stories of broken Floats, but are usually pretty short on details and the riders usually have no experience with Floats.

But IMO these shocks are the real deal and worth the money. There is a reason all the makers put them on their high end sleds and aftermarket companies put them on their high end stuff also --- look at EZ Ryde, Timbersled, etc.

I have never had issues with floats, nor seen issues. And Yamaha wouldn't use them if there were any issues.

Just my $.02!!!!!!!!

I've ran floats for a while now and I like them very much. I am curious though how it would do with the rear? The only bad thing I have ever heard was the rebounds were'nt fast enough. But this was what I read in here from a guy who had installed one a couple years ago. I'll bet that thread is still around here somehwere.

The float rear fon the 2011 apex is the best riding rear suspension I ever been on.The sled i drove was dialed in and road like you where on a cloud.

I'll take an air shock any day over a conventional shock.

Hope to get a few air shocks that will fit the ZX2, that would have been something.

Dude, read that again and then tell me the Apex has no issues.

Well, never thought I'd see the day I'd be defending Yami, but you do have to admit that when it comes to the Apex, they have been working on it? Many of the fixes a lot of us incorporated, AT OUR OWN UNREIMBURSED EXPENSE (after hearing the almost universal "what problem?" comment), have now been incorporated into the newest OEM designs...

FWIW, if I were running this Mono suspension, I think enough of the Floats to be be seriously considering this shock - if I had plans on keeping the sled for a few more seasons. You could recover a lot of it's cost when you go to sell the sled by reinstalling the original and selling the air shock seperately?

OK sx7001, I will repeat what I first said: I have never had issues with floats, nor seen issues.

Now what I said second: Yamaha wouldn't use them if there were any issues.

When did I say the Apex was flawless? I personally haven't had all the issues a lot have had, but as my mileage adds up I'm sure issues/things like exhaust donuts will emerge. I never said the Apex was flawless, which is clear. Nothing in life is perfect, dude.

In my experience, Floats rock. I like them. I've also never personally witnessed or heard of issues with them, but for some hearsay here on TY. In fact, a person who is in the know, Mr. Carver of Carver Performance, recommends them and in fact uses them on his own sled.

In terms of yamaha/ other manufacturers, there is a trend to put Floats on their high end sleds, bump sleds, and off trail sleds. The latter 2 categories of which take the most abuse/ pounding mile after mile, tree stump and rock after tree stump and rock.......

If there was a high rate/ unacceptable rate of failure amongst Floats, why would they use these shocks for these applications? They wouldn't want their best customers (high end buyers and most picky buyers) mad at them. And if Floats couldn't handle abuse, then they wouldn't use them on bump/mogul sleds and off trail sleds. This is common sense if you ask me!

But to each his own. I'm sold on air shocks and won't accept anything but them. If I get a sled with out them, I'll swap those shocks out for Float 2's. Just my opinion and I'm entitled to have it!
