In the valley here i guess when we get this much snow we have to prepare to flood. But to me its normal and a price to pay for a great sled season. Anyone else have this happening to them this time of year?

That kinda sucks !! Hope you make out allright.

Most of WI is going to be fine this year unless big rain comes.Hope you guys there can save your property.Good luck.

Thanks fellas I think the worst has passed us. Down south the river crested 2 ft less than they predicted so we should be good to the new levels. We have storms coming and never know what mother nature will do, but I guess she might give us one more snow, that might let me get out locally one more time. I have heard of 40" snow in Rapid City, SD and 18" in western ND I might have to go there for one more hurrah.

I feel your pain bnsf205. I lived in Fargo for several years, had to canoe three blocks from a sandbag island to get to school in 97. At least you got some decent snow this winter. I rode my motorcycle during Christmas break last year. No flooding here on the Yukon and the trees and hills are a nice change of scenery. Probably another month of riding. Hope things fair well for you this Spring.

I grew up in Grand Forks and went back to help my family during 97. Their house only had a couple inches in the basement that year. We ended up evacuating that year,I hope it doesn't get to that here. Today we are waking up to a few inches of new snow. They say were gonna get 5-8" which otherwise would be awesome for sledding, but now its gonna screw up the diking since the sandbags will be frozen and not work. On the other hand it will slow the melt. We gotta get lucky some time!
