Earlier in this string I saw mention of 11 changes in the the front end on the 09 Nytros verses the 08s. Could anyone tell us specifically what the changes consist of? Does anyone know if they are backwards compatable? I lost it in a corner last week, cracked a rib on the handle bars and broke my collar bone on impact taking me out for the rest of the season. Before I get back on this thing I'd like to do whatever I can to improve the handling. Thanks

so would replacing the stock joints with 09 ball joints cure this problem? instead of having to modify them?

why do you feel that the 09s wont have the ball joints fixed ? or do you think they wont have the caster fixed ? Im hopeing that the 09 parts will fix alot of the problems on my 08 .... Maybe i should just buy aftermarket? why do you guys think

well, been lurking around this site for about month now, and I am glad I found it.I bought a nytro mtx a couple of months ago and really like the sled other than the dartiness the sled exibits on hard pack especially when other sleds had been laying tracks down the day before. I am going to try the ball joint mod, and replace the shock and spring with the 09 models set up. Unless there is another shock setup out there that one of you could suggest. Also what is flipping the rubbers. I am a complete rookie to snowmobiling. I am not afraid to try different things but I am not real familiar with alot of terms . thanks

I tried shimming the rubbers, mine were installed correct and didn't need to be flipped. It Helped but now it steers like a truck. Still haven't tried the 2.5mm minus ball joint mod but it's next on to do list.

yes finally
I made the mods and I love the way the machine handles. I put the pilot skis and it corners flat. I recommend this to anyone who questions their handling.

gaslighter, so I take it you did the ball joint, and the flip rubbers.along with the .25 inch shim. did you lower the the strap by two holes. also where did you get the skis.

Anyone know the answer to this one?? I'm tearing mine down this off season to at-least gusset up the front end. If I can get the handling of an 09 then I'll be a happy camper.
Thanks.
