Hey just wondering is there a fix out there for the frozen relay issue? Sled wouldn't start the other day -30 Celsius I knew it wouldn't so I used a hair dryer now I wouldn't ride in that way too cold but say I we're going somewhere overnight and it got to -30 at night and in the morning sled won't start I know pull out relay and blow on it to warm it up put back in and voila but Is there a fix for this? New relay or anything or is this taking covers off and blowing in it the only option? Thanks.

so a new holder will fix it completely no more cold nights worrying about it or is this always the case new or old relay. I just put 700$ into this sled....more money I'm not going to be impressed. Will a new relay and new holder prevent this no starting in cold weather?

You're looking at $15. I'm not saying it will never happen again but your sled is an 06 if this is the first time you've had an issue with I'd say you're doing pretty good.

Would some Gasline antifreeze night before a really cold night like we just had help? Just wondering, I go on frequent remote trips, I can pack a spare Fuel relay, but just wondering would dumping a bottle of antifreeze in the night before and running the machine for 5 min, when you know its going to be -30 or less over night help?

It's not the fuel it's the relay that operates the fuel pump that's the problem. Plus I don't about where you are but around here there's plenty of alcohol in the fuel already.

Makes sense alright, probably just a good idea to pack an extra one, and keep it inside, so If I need to replace I can.

a dumb question
OK... I found the fuel pump relay.... Good location on the outside of the relay bar... slide the "relay" up and off the bar and now what?...I am at a loss as to how the relay disconnects. I am afraid to pull or push too hard as it all looks plastic and fragile. Which is the mount or holder and which is the relay? Or, perhaps do the wires pull out of the bottom? Any input on this will be of help. Also, on the idea of arcing the leads with a pliers, ... where are the leads? Are they available after the wires are "pulled" out? Thanks. I don't like admitting I'm at a loss as to how to do this, but I thought I would turn here first before going to a dealer. Many thanks.

P.S. I'm sitting here by the fire tonight. Tomorrow I will post a photo.

Photo of relay
Here is a photo of the fuel pump relay from our Vector. I believe the white tab (circled in the photo) is a locking tab to disconnect the relay from the harness. Is that correct. If so, how do you push the tabs in. I have tried with my fingers and find it impossible (so far)..and suspect even more difficult in -25 temp. on the trail. Any input will be appreciated. Many thanks

You pry the black tab out, that's the holder. The tabs break very easy that's why you should get the replacement holders.

OK..thanks. Here's another dumb question. Do the wires have pins on them? I guess if they do, they easily pull out of the relay and into the new one. Thank you yox185 for the response. For some reason I was thinking the relay was the black deal.yox185 said:You pry the black tab out, that's the holder. The tabs break very easy that's why you should get the replacement holders.
