Need one for this sled. This is the bag we already have for it and would like to keep the bag if possible. I've seen a pic of the rotopak gas tank in this bag I think. But does that leave room for a 5 day trip? I also thought maybe mount the Rotopak tank on tail and then just have this bag go over the tank. But not sure if that would work.

I don't see many options for fuel storage for this sled. It was the only one to run out of gas on our Canadian trip.

Thanks for any suggestions!

I like the Linq system from SkiDoo. The linq fuel caddy also is one of the largest at 4 gallons. Do a search here and you will find lots of info on it. I'm surprised you ran out of fuel with your SW. From my trips I would think you should get 140 plus miles out of a tank no problem.

Check out up north technologies
You can buy a single or double mount

Here's a picture of single mount

Up North Technologies, makes a single and double rack for LINQ accessories.

I have the LTX LE. When I bought my bracket they only made the single. I have LINQ Tank and Bag Combo Pics below.

Depending on how much fuel you want to carry, a rotopax can could mount underneath your tunnel pack.
Although fastening it right to the tunnel may be an issue since there is heat exchanger back there.

Something like this ? They must have a bracket on the side of the sled ! maybe contact Grip -N-Rip racing and find out...

3.25 gallons fuel & 30 liters storage. Stainless Steel buckles & rivets. Kept the stock storage bag also

BTW: Rotopak makes their own brackets. Different styles & configurations that fit all their tanks

Steve, What is that? Where is the fuel can? Inside? May be able to use something like that for Canadian trips and the current bag for local day trips.

And another question, where is the tool kit for this sled?? Can't find it. Need to adjust the shocks.

As far as the fuel range, we ride with 3 1200's and a 800 Polaris. The SW ran out of gas. I don't think its a matter of MPG but it has the smallest fuel tank.

Powderkeg XP-120. Gas is bottom piece. You can separate them to mount just baggage. Since you already have a bag, maybe a couple Rotopaks on side would be most economical & easily accessible. Two 2 gallon paks & brackets are about $240. Powder keg is $415

Ouch...Pricey! Although not really as its both gas and storage.

Can the Rotopaks be mounted on the side without fabricating?

Yes pricey, but if you add up all the brackets for Linq system & others, actually less. The box is extremely tough, lockable & i didn't want straps or fabric that can and WILL tear eventually. Plus i keep all my tools & 2 belts in the stock bag. The guy i saw mounted the Rotopaks near the back on the side of the tunnel like DGZRT's pics. He had 1 gallon cans so it was a cleaner look, but the 2 gallon cans would be more useful. The brackets are just a couple small holes & bolts...

I agree and I will be checking that system out. Don't hate me but I have an 850 ordered. Will need gas and storage for that sled. I've been using the saddlebags from my 2000 SXR on my 1200. They look terrible but do the job for week long trips. And I use the tunnel for my gas caddy. Gonna try to do that again with 850. Easier to fabricate something when its your sled!

The SW is a friends. He asked me to figure something out for carrying extra gas. I looked and without having the rotopaks mounting kit in front of me, tough to see if the mounting bolts would get in the way of the track. I'm almost thinking a 1 gallon rotopak and just putting it inside the existing bag. Clothes and such could be placed inside on top of the rotopak. And 1 gallon would be enough. I'm the only one who carries fuel on our trip and we've only had to use it once and that was for the SW but we knew we were stretching it.

You may be thinking of this picture. The one gallon works great, with plenty of space left over.

The 1.75 fits though

Yes that is exactly the pic I'm looking for. I think that will work well enough. Gives an extra gallon of gas and no need to change up all luggage.
