Anyome run the stage one kit or any kit from full power performance? For an apex. How well build are the kits? reliable? Spool fast?

I can add that I've had FPP kits, in some form, for many years now. Started out with a base stage1 Apex kit, which has of course evolved over the years to what I have now.
Their Apex kits are great for what they are intended for, trail riding many miles. That kit design has literally been around since the Apex first got released by Yamaha, so proven and refined over it's lifetime. It's design is very similar to the MCX (with tunnel snow cooler and front intercooler) with the exception FPP uses a simpler piggyback fuel controller.
They do spool fast, depending on your interpretation of "spool fast", but they will respond fast enough to not be able to get the power to the snow if you are too aggressive with clutching... They do have a real good clutch kit to match. I think there are a few FPP kits running around the rock in your neck of the woods.

I was thinking of putting it on my MTX, because I do trial ride and so spend alot of time in the hills but I didn't want anything over 230 hp as it would be to much for my rising skill, as this is the first year on my apex.

Hi I purchased the Bender Turbo from Yamaha for my 06 Apex when it first came out. I have put 5000 K on it now. It has worked good over the years and I am quite happy with it. It is a great trail turbo. I usually run at about 200 hp or 9lbs of boost. I have had a few hiccups over the years which required some attention but generally happy with it. It will do an honest 120 mph everyday easy.

Don't kid yourself you get use to any hp level and then want more....go for it you will not regret more power.

I am aware Bender does not make kits anymore. I believe Justin from Full Power Performance was responsible for the development of the Bender Turbo Kits. This was in response to the post of FPP kits that are now being made. Just saying that I am happy with my kit.How about Hurricane?
I've spoke with Justin when installing my kit and found him to be a great person to talk with. He was very helpful with the questions I had for him.

Yes I bought an 06 Attak a while ago with the FPP2 stage turbo setup! Stage 1 is fast and also very good on fuel! Stage 2 is too much for trails and hard on fuel. Worry about other people trying this thing out on stage 2, stuff happens quick with this! Best part about this old set up is I can call Justin @ FPP and still get answers for my questions and all parts still available! And it was built by him but I purchased used from another! Beat that...

My set up is much like you will find on the FPP site. It has 2 stages, a toggle switch with dual position is how you go from stage 1 to stage 2. Stage 1 is 5lbs boost, while stage 2 is 10lbs of boost. Motor is stock so you need 91 octane for stage 1 and 100 octane for stage 2! Is that what you meant?
