Gaylord MI, Feb. 13th *UPDATED*

There's some ice base out there. The good news is tomorrow night We are on the northern edge of a 4 to 7 inch forecast. So Maybe this weekend some riding might be possible. keep your fingers crossed. Also the extended forecast is for the lake effect machine to kick back on. ;)!

Superman,

Thansk for your report. Looks like riding next weekend is on. I might just head to Caddy, thinking about a Gaylord trip the first week of Feb and then back for another trip to the Key.

Thanks again,

PH

Things are ridable again. I would call it O.K.. Last Friday morning We got 4 or 5 inches and a couple inches over the weekend. I might take a ride this evening.

Let us know how it turns out.

The ride I was trying to take all week has not materialized. Family life is just extremely busy this week. I did talk to a friend of Mine and he said it was pretty good. Some bad spots you could hear some carbide scratch. The forecast for today and thru the weekend is for snow and high winds. There should be some good riding up here this weekend.

**I try to be objective and not paint to bright of a picture because what I think is O.K. some people might think is great and others might think is crap. If I get some free time this weekend I will be going for a ride around here. And I don't like taking My sled out in junk conditions. Hope this help some of you guys out if your thinking about coming up. ;)!

jan. 21st report.

O.K. after the snow this weekend :brrr: things are back to pre-warm up status. And the 10 day forecast has snow in 9 of them. Snow conditions should be very good for the Jan. 25th & 26th weekend.
:letsnow: :winter:

Jan. 24th

I have to get Me a job as Weather man. Do these guys have the life. Over the last 24 to 36 hours they have been predicting combined total's over 12+ inches. The reality is we got about 4"! Snow conditions currently in Gaylord are still good. Just wish We would have got everything they were talking about.

Oh! the forecast for this monday 1/28 is high's in the mid 30's and a chance of rain. :o| :o| :o|

Better yet: You could've run around, telling everyone the "sky is falling" and got a Nobel prize and $Million bucks.

Feb. 13th update

Just thought I would update. Snow conditions around the Gaylord and the tip of the mitt are pretty good to excellent. Grooming operations around gaylord are hit and miss as always. But from what I've rode around here this year its been more of a hit. I've included a couple of pics of my ride monday up to the Mackinaw Bridge. Good Luck.

hey superman how many miles is it to the bridge.

Seems to me I had around 150 miles round trip. I went up through the new 35 mph trail on the west side of mullet Lake thru Cheboygan and came back through Alanson. I would assume each way was about the same distance. 75 miles up and 75 miles back approximately.

Fudge! man did we get screwed this weekend. John Dee had us in for 8-12" for sunday into monday morning. Didn't happen. If anything we lost at least 6" of snow with all the rain on sunday. Depressing!

I guess the upside is it looks like the central and eastern U.P. got hit pretty good.

The trails are pretty good around the waters/Frederic area
Rode Thursday night and it was pretty smooth from Waters to Starvation lake, to Alba then to Larry Seven-ski-Inn. We headed north farther to the county line where it looked like no one has groomed in sometime so we turned around and headed back the same way we came. On the way home around Wilderness Valley I passed the groomer on the three large roller hills next to the road.....Scared the hell out of the driver.....to be honest he was really flying down those trails.....

I think that if they slowed down just a little it would get rid of all the little wash board stuff that is sometimes left behind when they are hauling ash.
To be honest I didnt know a groomer could travel that fast....

But the trails are good a little icy in some of the corners but thast kind of has to be expected with the rain we had last week along with the minor amount of snow this week....good ridding out there

Well the trails are still holding up very well
a little icy out there but thats the facts of life right now.

The trails are smooth and groomed for the most part

This could be one of the last weekends to ride this year

Well its been a great year with a lot of really good trail conditions,
its been a lot of fun out there and be safe and end the year on a
high note.
