So it's basically been narrowed down that the low gearing is the limiting factor on the LE models, I will make a deal with someone, my ltx se has 24/50 gearing, I'm switching to xtx (21/41) gears and chain and will be willing to give my stock gears and chain to an LE owner so they can try them and report back here to help out those thinking of doing this swap, all I ask is you pay the shipping. Any takers? Gears and chain are hopefully coming out this week.

TD Max or Weasel33

I just texted him.....

Just talked to weasel33 on the phone.

His dealer just took out his demo sled yesterday (same sled) and got 80 out of it. His dealer is not happy about that speed either so they are putting in gears right now and will be testing tomorrow or Wednesday.

But, weasel33 said he will take the gears if the results are good from his dealer. If the results are not good and the sled only runs....let's say 82mph, weasel33 would probably not take the gears.....but I would be interested in trying something Barry

I agree Barry

They will be doing testing outside tomorrow from what I was told.

That's why I helped TD and Weasel..... along with his brother. I want to see these things do better than 80 and still use the same track.

All working on this makes this site awesome!

All I know is that even with a 1.7 track, this thing doesn't need to be geared that low to still have power, it can be geared for 105 mph like the regular se models and not lose much if any of the down low grunt. I believe in one of TD's posts he said he could hold off Cannondale's sled til 60-70 maybe..all I know is that 60 mph even for a stock rtx or ltx se comes very quick, we're only talking a matter of 5 seconds or less.

It will be interesting to hear how it gos and then from there how the acceleration rate is affected.

That's why I gave you first shot TD, you've done a lot with your sled already so you're familiar with it but more importantly, you've ridden with cannondale who would be running this gearing setup and you know exactly how it compares, in my opinion when doing any type of tuning you really need something to compare to rather than just by feel. The mind will very easily play tricks on you and what sometimes may feel fast or show fast on the speedo can very easily make the sled actually slower when compared to a comparable sled.

I think Weasel is best for this one as two brothers, same sleds with two different clutch kits and can swap around. In absence of proper test equipment to log runs they have the best situation. If I did the gearing I'd be second guessing my butt dyno.
