"Speed is your friend" is a fact of life but how does speed help me load a dead snowmobile?

Let the air out of your tires to get the truck lower to the ground. LOL

Alright, update time!
Picked her up this morning! Apon inspection I found out it has 3000 miles on it (my other attak has 8000 miles). I took the little black plastic pannle off that you take off too drain the engine oil right from the engine and found a hole in the side of the block. Going too be pulling the engine when I have time. When it's out and tore apart I will make the call whether too part it out or fix it!
I snapped a photo of my attak with the plastics and windshield off the one I just got, looks pretty good if you ask me.

JBWeld can fix that
. Seriously, would be interesting to find out what caused the hole. Can you take a pic of it?

Most likely a connecting rod let go, and I can try too get a picture of the hole but no garentees. Will be able too get one when I get the engine out, but I don't know when I will have time!

Yeah...anything just inside of the sway bar links...any crease or indentation, and it could have done that..the sump cover is very close to the belly...even with a skid plate it is possible to jump and land there and smash the sump cover...probably never happen, only to me!!! LOL

The hole is on the back of the engine, so I don't think it was because of an impact, I'm starting to think it punched a connecting rod through

I missed that post...me bad...hmmmmm....they are pretty stout engines for a rod to go, unless he lost oil from somewhere else to cause it. Then again, anything can fail...
I had to have a new crank, new rods, bearings, bolts etc..it was literally brand new in 04...and fortunately my dealer rebuilds engines, but it was his first....all the bearings and stuff have numbers to match, etc..but it really ran strong when he was done with it!! Still running today..3rd owner...somewhere out there!!

Hello TY world!
time for an update, i have no done any work on said Attak, just haven't had time. i have been taking little parts off it here and there for my other attak but i'm keeping it mostly together so i could fix it if i decided too. the engine put a connecting rod through and it damaged too upper and lower crankcase so i doubt that it will be fixable.
my other attak has been worked on more than rode this short winter season, it got cracks in both running board heaters. i was quoted $150-200 a piece too get them welded. i have since come up with a different fix, i bought 8 feet of 1 inch copper pipe and am strapping it up under the running boards instead of the heaters (pics too follow once the install is complete) I've been told by different people that it will work and it will keep cool just the same, and I've been told it wont work and will over heat. total for everything was $50 (CAN) for $50 if it doesnt work oh well, the worst that could happen is the light comes on and i have too shut her down for a few mins, if it happens too much i'll have too put the running board heaters on again. If anyone is real interested in how I am doing it i could start another thread and post pictures

I've never seen anyone running a copper pipe setup like that. In theory it could work but I'd be worried it would overheat. If your running the thing through powder thats up to the running boards all the time you'll probably be ok but trail running it's going to get hot. I'd be worried the surface area difference between the pipe and your actual coolers would be too much for the machine to handle. I know my 07 attak would overheat running down the trail if I never dipped it into the powder.
