First of all, I would wait until 09 if your looking for a high horsepower sled. There are virtually no changes in the Apex/Attaks for 09 except a major increase in price. Or you might want to look for a 07. There are lots and lots of good 07 out there in crates at really good pricing. I have seen Apex or Attak GT's for as little as 8000-8500 if you can find the right deal. Other than front Ohlins these are virtually the same sleds.
As for track length, I would sweat it as both are good choices and neither could you go wrong with. Personally, I prefer the 121 as I feel it rides as good as the 136. I could tell no difference between my friends Rage and my Apex. If anything the 121 rode better, but some of this may be due to the more aggressive riding position of the Apex over the Attak. The 121 should be slightly faster if you have a long race, but the 136 will get our of the hole quicker. So for short races the Attak will get you there quicker, long races the Apex may top out slightly faster. There is probably more difference due to owner setup. The 121 definately handles better in the tight stuff, but again we are talking small differences.
