Well took the sled out last night ran great. When i got home i thought i would look in the intake side of the turbo (right side exhaust) to see how much snow-dust was on the two bleed off switches. There was a ton. So first off i think i want to take one switch off so i just have one. So with the seat and every thing off i run out to a field. I was going for like 10-14 boost. Wrong the most you can get out of a Bender two is like 5-6 psi with the line right to gate and no psi bleed off and then like 9 or so with the switch up.(This is where it starts)Lots of snow getting all over the filter sock bad!! I call Bender they say yea you need to add one more switch. SO i go to the store and get some line to run it up front out off all the snow dust. I go back out , the most boost i can get is like 9 psi!! With both switch on! They are froze up again!! :o| :o| So i come back home take air filter and sock off they are VERY VERY WETT! That is where all the water is coming in the line! Should not have run in 6" of very soft snow, with the covers all off the back! So i come home dry the filter and bleed off lines out. Think they are all good , go back out same dam- thing!! One switch froze! I looked at the clear line going to my boost gauge there is some water in there too!!! One thing the sled did a few times after all this snow dust sucked in the motor it did not want to idle! I had to turn the idle way up. Then after coming back to the truck it came back!! To like 4,500!! I turned it back down. Carbs idle jet froze shut??

So i must have water in every line!! Fuel psi reg. ON and ON!! Where to start! Or should i say about to stop!! :o|

So i know i need a Boost controler i think i will just get the Turbosmart one with the high low switch and try and get all the lines dry. Any one have some pic on where they mounted it?

What you guys think? I am going to try and take a break from this for a few hours, have been non stop for like 3-4 days going nuts!

Thank you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Skydog

I did mount the switches up front on the left side, where the key is on the right. Still did not work!!?? Going to junk that set up and get a Turbosmart controler. I dont know i bet it does the same thing.

skydog,
That's why I inquired about the snow dust. Because I wanted to find out what everyone was doing to combat that ole' snowdust problem! That's been our biggets problem since the invention of the snowmobile. And with these turbos, just thirsting for air..........I am sure it could be even more of an issue. Hopefully someone on here has a ood solution or alternative?

Yea man i know i have water in all my lines!! I wounder the best way to get it all out?? Take every thing apart? I have all those one time clamps on there. I guess i will have to, any more input guys?

I put aluminum flashing to cover up under the tunnel and the hole where the exhaust goes through the tunnel , you have to cover it pretty much all up to keep the snow outta there .Run two small metal brake lines under the seat to the engine compartment and use a real boost controller , instead of those bleed off switches.

I did that too Tim. I was going to get a Turbosmart two stage. Why did I need to run two lines? Does one line for the turbo up to the controler and then back to the waste gate?

Thank you for your input it helps! You think the deal about it did not want to idle is carbs freezing from all the snow dust i sucked in earlier? it is very cold her wind chill like -5 deg. Other than that the motor runs great.

I run with my air filter wide open in 3' of pow. MY air filter gets clobbered with snow and I simply wipe it off once in a while. I dont understand completely what is going on here cause I dont have any probs with this. Are you running a pre filter skin?

Freak,
Are you pre-oiling the filter? I am running it both ways......with & with out a snow sock(skin). I just want to make sure that as the snow melts alittle from the under hood temps, that the moisture doesn't get "sucked" through the filter. I think a sock would be the best!? Simply wipe it off every so often. Thanks for the input!

No oil. Just the k&n pre filter over it. I think the problem you guys have is you run your filter inside all that exhaust housing. I left mine wide open so the air pressure around it is far less. ???

My switch is located under the left plastic exhaustcover, easy to reach and close to the wastegate.

Well guys i moved my switchs to the left side about 1 1/2" from the turbo! There is no way in hell it will freeze there! (right ha ha) I will let you know what i get going to ride her tonight.

One more thing for Max boost out of the waste gate i put just a hair of pull force on the arm to make sure she is closed all the way. Is this the right thing to do?

Thank you Skydog

We guys after 3-4 hours of riding! ALL GOOD!! The switchs over by the turbo ( heat ) was the key! She kicked butt all night!! Let three of my friends ride it. They could not even talk when they got off!! And they all called me today just to say how nuts it was!!HAHA LOVE IT!! :4STroke: :flag: ;)! :rocks:

Thank you guys!!!!!!!!! Skydog P.S. My one friend said it is like having your nuts glued to a F16 jet! FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHH!
