Has anyone actually blown up on any of the 240-270 tunes

hello I am debating on whether to keep my sidewinder on stock tune so I can save the warranty or saying screw it and get a tube because they are supposedly bulletproof
Has anyone actually had a 998 blow up on any of these tunes? Thanks

With built in properly workin knock protection from gap its pretty hard to burn down these sleds now. With any tune octane is your friend.

The problem I am seeing is u never know how the fuel is at some of these places in the middle of no where

My sled will usually only knock near wot. So common sense if you see the lights back it off and enjoy the ride. Pretty simple.

You find a rash of belts blown on the big tunes, but not many if any engines since the knock detection has been made active and common place.

240 and belts will last for thousands of miles. Big tunes struggle more with belts, rollers and exploded clutches now too. So clutch maintenance is an every day ritual with the Yamaha Primary on big tunes.

Like others mentionned the knock detection is what makes the tunes bullet proof!!!!
I tuned my 19 with 0km on it and never felt the power of it in stock form!!!
Tuning with o km was a risk I took due to the possibility of a defect from factory!!!

Never rode stock...260 hp from day one...500 miles zero belt issues, zero knock issues or lights. I add this minimum 1 once per gallon since day one. If you get gas a questionable place add more...

Hurricane 240 or Powertrail Sm are your friends. Good speeds ,87 octane in a pinch( no long periods of WOT) and near stock like belt wear! I am sure the chaincase is stressed less also.

I know of some that have gone down in our area. I’m not sure you can blame the tunes, would have to say user error. There is no tuner that has 100% reliability regardless what they claim!

Is this motor bulletproof? The answer is NO!
I never mention any tuner.... Every tune have broke engine, it's mecanic! Yesss i am "bitching" weak aftermarket stock pisses me off :-/
