Just wondering how its performing, I've read good things about it but how is it doing in our everyday trail riding (on/off)

How about HOWL and HYFAX wear any better than with RIPSAW...

I have some interest and I'm trying to get some HANDS-ON info the actual end users, not some magazine or MFG predictions based on design and computer results... :bling

I have the cobra track on my rtx. Same topspeed as with the stock rip saw but much much better out of the hole and loose/deep snow performance. Hyfax wear are the same as with the stock track..

I have it on my Attak.

Same results as the above. 2 lbs lihghter than the ripsaw. Open all windows clipped every thrid.

- Same top end
- better hole shot in ALL conditions including hardpack
- 20x better in loose and powder conditions.

Would def buy again. do a search on my name - plenty of links and pictures.

I'm just wondering I mostly run GROOMED trails and this track being 1 3/8" I'm kind of worried with the slides overheating, I guess it can't be any worse than a RIPSAW...

I find the RIPSAW loses traction in loose stuff...

I think the Cobra was made for the Apex. On trail, lakes, off trail (not talking about REAL deep). As above, have experienced much better acceleration in all conditions. 1500 miles to date, looks like new. Here's a recent pic of mine in about 24".

Just got done racing mu buddy on his F1000 and he just put on the cobra track. Defenitely a huge improvement in the soft snow. Before the track switch he had a 1" Hacksaw with 150 1.175 studs. We raced 6 times on a Portion of a groomed trail which was on a open field. Out of the hole we were even, then not much after that, he pulled me by a sled length and then by 70 mph I pulled up on him side by side up to 101 mph. Did that 4 times with the same results. This was all done in about a 1000 feet. We then went and raced on a 1 mile portion of a groomed trail and same results accept on top end, I was a head by 3/4 of a sled length. Now I have 144 1.450 studs and he has 170 1.450 studs and I have the ripsaw and he has the 1.325 cobra, fully clipped. So he does have more traction them me.... But if I put that on my sled what would it do? You gotto kinda of wonder....

Did anyone ever notice any loss of top end with it, compared to the ripsaw?

I went with a Poo suspension, extrovert drivers, and the Cobra track, all as part of the same update. No top end loss compared to stock setup with Ripsaw.

Edit: Sould also note I am not studed

Fully clipped or every third window? I am impressed with it, it hooked real good on my friends F1000. Do you feel that you needed to gowith the DOO extrovert drivers for this track or you just wanted to do it?

I have the cobra with the doo extroverts on my nytro. same top end as stock & wicked holeshot on loosey goosey snow. Gets thru powder pretty well too.

Full clipped or every third?

Fully clipped is 37 lbs. The every third clip is 34lbs with every window cut out, which is said to be 2 lbs lighter than the ripsaw and 3 lbs lighter than the fully clipped. Turk, you seemed to be the only one taht went fully clipped. Why?

Went with extros (fully clipped) because of the prevous experience with the stock drivers/Ripsaw/CK suspension (ratcheting/questionable suspension performance). For the price of the Doo drivers and Poo suspension, didn't want ANY chance of that experience recurring/continuing. Figured if it was going to come down anyway, I was going to do everything possible to cure problems encountered to date. IMHO, the combo has done the trick. There isn't another sled out there I'd rather have.

I did clipped every third for the weight savings.

My top end is identical on hardpack with the ripsaw. Holeshot is amazing though.
