Thanks TURK I'm not much of a STUD fan myself and this is why I think this track would be a good choice, Im also going to remove my tunnel protectors for less SNOW build up...

The cobra does not work as well as the ripsaw on a hard packed trail. It does work better on loose snow once some sleds have been over a few time. I also does not hurt your top end on hardpacked. On loose snow conditons it is likely going to carry more snow around which in theory should hurt top end more than the ripsaw. Lugs are too soft for really hard packed, they just bend where the ripsaw bites!

Who has studded there cobra? and what length stud do you use. Do you have to change the drivers?

Do you have this track?? From what you are telling it sounds like you never even been close to a sled with this track on..

apex 06 rides with me. we both bought & installed our cobra,s at the same time. That track seems a lot better suited to the nytro then the Apex but then I had a lot more chances to ride in more softer non-hard pack snow. Ripsaws 1 strength is hook up on real hard conditions.

I am running 108 Double Backer 1.5" Extreme Max studs on my viper & love it! Coming from a 1.75" finger track I feel that I lost no deep snow performance & totally gained on the trail & hardpack.

I am a little confused because you state it does not hurt your top end on hard packed and then state the lugs bend over on hard pack. Wouldn't your top speed be affected by the lugs bending over ? If those lugs are soft when the track is new then I am not buying one as I am very disappointed with the Ripsaw and Hacksaw which both have soft lugs. Did you radar before and after the track change ? It would be nice to read some radar run facts on the Cobra and all tracks so that an we can make the right choice .

We know the Cobra is way better than the Ripsaw in a groomed trail where the snow is soft. I have raced and my buddies F1000 with it and it proves that. But, we have not ran on hardpacked snow/ice yet. So that will have to be done before I purchase one. The last couple of years inour area, we had alot of warm temps and rain through out the season, so the ground was always hard. This year, much colder and lot of snow and not many warms days or rain for that matter and the conditions were loose all year. So, we'll run again and we'll see how I make out. He gets me out of the hole by about 1 -1/2 sled lengths, but I pull back to him or beide in a 1000ft +.

Will you be able to run him this year ? Which track do you currently have ?
If I stick with the 121 it looks like in the 1" it would be the Predator and in the 1.25 it would be the Kimpex Shotgun X which has rock hard paddles. If I go with the 136 at this point I would go with the Predator unless I get facts to prove other wise.
