I've never had a heated seat, maybe I'm just a man....

LOL but I've never been cold either, maybe I don't know what I'm missing!

No it will not. But I know it will last way longer then stocker. I have a SE without OEM heated seat so I added heat Deamon. Great product for the money. Just make sure you add a fuse.Will heat demon "plug and play" into stock circuit and wiring? Same resistance, same plug, etc?

First. YPP warranty will not cover a failed seat warmer, only in first year of original warranty. If you are able to get to the dealer before a year is up , fine. If not you can go pound sand. Second, a Yamaha tech told me my element is shot. I rook it apart and everything seems ok. This plug is from the main harness to the switch. I am thinking, with the engine running I should have 12v from the center pin to each of the outside ones. Is this correct? I have 0 volts. Handwarmers work, fuse is good.

Lol. I agree on not knowing what I'm missing. I've ridden in -20 farenheit and didn't feel cold once I was moving along.I've never had a heated seat, maybe I'm just a man....

I considered adding the "optional" heated seat to my order form for my 2021 SE, but decided it was just another possible hassle I didn't need to deal with.

Here is what the 2020 Cat ZR9000 manual says about seat heater testing. I think Yamaha manual says same.
T e s t in g Se a t H e a t e r
Sw i t c h e s
NOTE: The seat heater elements cannot be tested.
O PERA T O R H EA T ER SW IT C H -
Re s i s t a n c e
NOTE: The element connectors are located at the
rear of the front seat beneath the flap.
1. Disconnect the main harness/element connector.
2. Connect one ohmmeter lead to the red/black main
harness wire; then connect the other ohmmeter lead
to the green/red main harness wire. The meter must
read the following ± 5%:
LO = 4.32k ohms
HI = 3.75k ohms
NOTE: If resistance is not within specification, troubleshoot
the switch connector located below the steering
support. If the switch connector tests good,
replace the switch.

Can you advise where you got the wire? What's is it called or brand name?
Thanks!
Any braided 18 gauge wire will work but insure the jacket is silicone and not PVC.... That is the issue, causing the straint fractures. Also, incorporate a fixed cable straint relief for permanent prevention as mentioned in earlier posts.
Not all seat elements failures are within the wiring, I had my own seat heater fail due to the voltage regulator module that is integrated into the heating element, its encased in silicone. We forensically dissected it and contacted the GDB the manufactured for a part, instead of replacing the entire element..... They wouldnt sell the part due to contracts with Textron.
Had to buy the entire heat element part. So be prepared to buy a new heating element.

I have had my heated seat replaced 2 times under the extended warranty. They usually last longer when replaced by dealer

If they don't do anything to fix root cause of failure, it will happen again and again.

I love the heated seat. Totally unnecessary and just another thing that will break, but man it's real comfortable. I don't think I'll have another sled without it lol

Never had one can’t say I’d ever get that. With the pounding the sled takes how do we ever expect the wire to not break?
