Is this normal. At 90 kms or 56 mph, I am reving 10,000 rpms and at 110 or 70 mph, I rev 10,700 rpm on speedo and tach. This seems way high for crusing and decent gas mileage. phazer GT

That seems about right. This motor peaks out at about 11300-11500 RPM.

doesn't seem quite right on a GT really... had it been an FX or Mtn. lite maybe right.

Aren't the FX and GT geared the same?

nope the GT is geared higher than the FX
Sorry to thread jack, but what is the difference in gearing between say the base model Phazer and the FX & GT?

Phazer & Phazer FX:
-Gearing: 18-41 (2.28:1)
-MPH: 81 MPH @ 11,100 engine RPM
Phazer GT:
-Gearing : 20-41 (2.05:1)
-MPH: 90 MPH @ 11,100 engine RPM
Phazer Mountain Lite:
-Gearing: 17-41 (2.41:1)
-MPH: 68 MPH @ 11,100 engine RPM
Mountain Lite uses 8 tooth drivers instead of 9 tooth, if I got it right.
Quote from another thread:
"I believe the gear reduction is actually 50/35 or 30%. Example 11,100 engine rpm = 7700 clutch rpm. So you need to reduce your calculated speeds accordingly.
Also the Mnt Phazer has 8 tooth drivers.
With these in mind - Phazer Mt Lite -MPH: 62MPH @ 11,100 engine RPM"

All of the gear reduction specs for all models even european ones are in the owners manual.

I have ordered the 20 t gear for my FX, I guess when the turbo goes on it will gladly pull som extra mph ;-)
it's the same chain by the way, on the GT and FX, thank you.

Guys, I'm hitting what I believe to be a rev limiter on my mountain lite when I punch it from almost any RPM. I watch my tach climb as high as 12,300 to 12,800 RPM. What's the max supposed to be and how do I fix that?

I havent seen 12,800 on mine yet. Highest Ive seen is about 12500. It seems about right that you should hit the limiter at that RPM. Fix it by backing off the throttle!lol

Would adjusting the secondary clutch help? If you adjust the spring to be looser, the rpm would go down from 200 to 400 rpms. It has 4 holes to position spring? Anyone tried?

The rev limiter is 12,200 (but on the digital tach you may see it jump over that as it cuts the spark). If you want to bring the RPM down you could change the rivets in the weights.

^What he said. If its overrevving you can put heavier weights in the drive/primary clutch.
