I purchased the PEFI fuel pump upgrade kit years about 4 years ago. I think he uses a 255 lph pump. When I did the calculations using stock fuel injectors at full flow, even that 255 lph pump can pump way more fuel than the injectors can flow, which means there is still a huge return to the basket keeping it full and overflowing all the time.
Some of us have added an in-line 10 micron fuel filter to our systems making certain nothing can clog up the pump or the suction socks, etc.
I've also had my injectors ultrasonically cleaned and flowed to make sure they're at 100%.
So far, no issues with my PEFI pump and fuel filter. Also, good idea to run the pump directly off battery using the Boost Kinetics relay accessory.
PEFI also has larger tank suction screens if you want. Don't know whose pump they use. Kit is expensive but it's a really nice quality kit.
BTW- no, I don't work for PEFI but their hardware is the best around IMHO.
But if the pump won't keep running right, no one's pump is any good. JM2C

Walbro gss342 pump same as what TD sells but guaranteed pefi is sourcing genuine pumps. Really nice setup and nice electrical connector at the pump. I have not had any issues with their setup either.
 
Does anyone where to buy a new fuel filter like the factory one that attaches to the pump?

Found these on Amazon. Cheap enough I guess. Anyone ever try them?

Just get the pump filter for $22. $90 for all 3.
 
I am into post season maintenance now on my SW and I have the fuel pump removed to inspect and replace the the crows feet and pump filter socks. Although all the filters look pretty good, I am going to install all new socks like the sled came with but I am really wondering if the pump sock is necessary as the pumps sits in its own isolated banana reservoir and the fuel that supplies the pump has already come through the crows feet filters.
I have never liked the way the pump filter has to do a 90 turn right over the pump intake and eliminating the pump filter would ensure there are no restrictions to the pump inlet although it does seem to work the way the stock setup is though.

Just get that sock with the 90 fitting from Orilley auto that Turboflash recommended It works great
