How did you end up buying your first RX-1?

I've been riding yamahas since 1980 and have had all the chassis designs in one form or the other. Then I bought my 00 SRX and holy crap. I was not on the 4 stroke band wagon until this past fall, I had grown somewhat tired of modding the SRX and really liked the mono skid and the diet the RX1 had gone on sine they came out. I called about 8 dealers, one had a blue ER and the right price so I went and got it the next day.

At this point in time there is no going back to a a 2 stroke, I will however be keeping the SRX forever. :4STroke: :rocks:

Had a Viper and needed to get another sled so my wife could ride. Could have bought a leftover new Viper for $4800. But my wife said that being I wanted an RX to go and buy one. So I did.

So, for us what else is there?

Actually, I still have my last srx 700. After I finished everythiing I could possibly imagine on it. I decided that 10,000 miles later I needed to upgrade. I had 136" my srx and loved it so there was no dought in my mind I needed a Warrior once I convinced my self that the 4-Stroke thing was worth a shot.

I don't know. I always wanted one, hell I still do. Just never had the right situation for a Vmax 4 purchase.

Last year my buddy bought a used 1000 Mountain Cat. He was much faster than my 700, and I couldn't let that happen, so I purchased an '05 Warrior. After 2 SRV's, 2 Exciters, one of those "P" sleds, and a 700 SXR, I knew there was no other sled than a Yamaha for me, and the Warrior has everything I wanted (unitl now) in a sled.

You must have still been wanting more speed if you ride with a m-cat 1000. I know even my old '95 ZRT-800 with only a few mods (PSI pipes, junk 1st gen V-force reeds, DG silencer and trail clutch kit) would walk all over my RX anywhere, anytime. from takeoff to top speed, my RX isn't anywhere close. But I have reliability...well, to rephrase that, I haven't had to be towed off the trail like I had happen several times with the Cat.

Well my first sled was in 97. I purchased a Yamaha 2-up 600. Nice sled but the damn thing only got 7 miles to the gallon. Plus the wife rode with me the day I bought it and never again.

So, in the spring of 98 I purchased a left over new in the box 1997 600XT. Added electric start, reverse and plastic skis. Love this sled. I now have 8,200 miles on her and she is still going strong. Also purchased a friends 96 Jag 440 L/C for the wife and kids to ride.

Last week I walked in the dealer and he had a few 04 RX1 ER's still in the crate. One hell of a deal going on with them. And after riding my buddys RX-1, I could not pass it up.

Kept the XT for the wife and kids. Dumped the cat.

4-stroke is the only way to go. And Yamaha is the only 4-stroke that makes any sense at all to own.

I just like 4 stroke's better than 2 stroke's, and had to have the RX-1 when it came out.

In 1974 did the same thing with a street bike, I bought a Honda 4 stroke over the faster Yamaha 2 stroke.

Maybe I'm just strange.

I bought my first Warrior 0nly after consulting with people from this site.... Mighty warrior, JTSRX, BBY..

Everyone loved the look of the machine..

I liked it soo much i bought a second one right after i wrecked the first one..
