Please pick your option!
I find they generally stand behind their product..BUT!! Their customer relations is the S H I T S.There are never any faults & they never release any information to customers.(try to speak to a customer relations person. I don't think they have a customer relation dept. in Canada. When you try to contact them, it's always the same answer---"we give all our information to our dealers who will pass it on to you.")If you don't have a good dealer that is willing to go to bat for you,it could be very frustrating.
Thankfully I have a very good dealer.

I dont care for the way they wont follow Yamaha USA's lead on handling known problems with their products like the 05 mono updates. I also am not impressed with their over pricing on sleds as of late and lack of communication. Once you buy from them you are forgotten.

Thats not 100% true Rod there are a lot of guys out here that have suffered much like you guys Basically there were no free updates unless you broke something. Then some dealers replaced more than others very inconsistant I don't dissagree thats one area they could use a little work but it's not just in Canada. I got a new front arm to replace a cracked one and a set of 06 bogie wheels that shredded in 50 miles (replaced with 05 wheels by my dealer right away) I did not get the rail reinforcements bigger bump stops or anything else. My only consolation is i have an awesome dealer that will do everything in his power to take care of me when and if something else breaks.

Was there not a R/A cable update for everyone in the USA?

Again i don't think it was an automatic thing although i think that was probably one of the more common updates. Forgot about that one pretty minor update actually.

All good for me so far with 8 sleds and a bike since 1998
Dealer has been great.
District service rep has been more than fair and on the spot when needed.
Pricing sucks relative to US but so does most everyone elses in Canada including auto manufacturers.
I am a little worried about the 06 Apex GT since I only got 600km on this year and none of the issues other than poor handwarmers showed up. I am concerned they will show after warranty has expired. However they have warrantied stuff for me before after warranty expiry date so maybe it will happen again if needed.
Relative to my experiences with Doo and Poo Canada, Yamaha is a nine, Doo a 3 and Poo is minus 5. Cat Canada was good as well, but I just could not stand the down time with the Cat.
Although I have met with the district service rep on a couple of occassions, everything was done through the dealer initially as has been suggested by Tom. It has worked for me.
Yammie Canadas Pricing SUCKS

im on my 3rd new yamaha. only have had warrenty work done on et410 and sx500r and that was mainly setting up the clutch properly due to belt squeal and over rev problems. the warrior is my 1st performance sled in the upper ranks so we will have to see.
some times though the dealers cant find the problems and you need a site like this to help you fix it. my et410 wouldnt pull right in the powder but was fine on the packed trail. on the 2stroke side i saw that ppl with problems like that changed the springs in the clutch. lo and behold that was the problem. dealer couldnt figure it out.

Not Totally True, "YOU DIDN'T" but here we took care of a few, and eveyone with an 06 was taken care of immediately at Dubois. Anything that was on YCN I knew about right away, and I hear we are still being looked after this summer or fall on the H.B issue & R.S.
I'm just dissapointed in the Price structure like most of you guys, I'm pretty happy with the way they have always treated us with everything else.
SD Your Dealer Sucks, find a better one.........I have "NEVER HEARD YOU YET SAY ANYTHING GOOD ABOUT YOUR DEALERSHIP". I belive that is one issue for you too change. You bought that RX1 from us last year and you were out the door in record time set to go and treated very well I might add.

Why is it then only some got it done and not others? It should not matter where one buys a sled to Yamaha Canada they should look after all problems once reported by Yamaha's own dealers it is a problem. Letters should be sent out to all owners of that problem telling them to bring the sled in to get fixed. Your dealership had to take it upon itself to get this problem fixed for your customers (which is good for your customers) a dealer should not have to go to such lengths for its customers to cover for Yamaha Canada.

Your right on that one, not much I can argue............Other than I have seen some dealerships sit on stuff or wait to see who is flippin the bill. They should just fix it and get their Provincal Service/Warrany Rep to get get on Y.C. case. Once again Peter Foreman our Provincal Rep does a great job for us.

My dealer has done what he can from what I have been told. He checked the YCN and it did not have any updates for my sleds. He would have done any work I wanted him too but he would have to charge me for all work and all parts. It is Yamaha Canada I have a bone to pick with not my dealer. Like you said his hands are tied and other than to complain as I am sure he did as the rest of them should have there is not much else he can do. I also have not recieved anything from Yamaha Canada in the form of a letter telling me of any warranty issues they are going to cover. They felt the need to send me an advertising CD for their new sleds in 06 though and the dealership atta boy sheet they send out after you buy something brand new. This after buying three new sleds one new bike one new scooter and one new quad. Quad is going to be traded in on a new Honda, Kawazaki or Suzuki not sure yet of which to get.

Rod sounds like things are somewhat similar up there as they are in the states after all (other than the pricing issue). Like i said earlier it's very inconsistant which is where much of the frustration comes in. What did Yamaha customer service say when you asked them about the RA cable update I don't believe anyone in the states received any recall / update notice. I just had mine in because my front arm was broke and it was installed at the same time. I think your only real avenue at this point is to deal with Customer Service as has been stated before complaining here will get you nowhere although i know it feels good to vent sometimes
