How many miles on your Sidewinder?

7,100 miles. TD max Spool 17 since 2000 miles. Thunder Products springs with Dalton Weights. BOP shaft saver. Original shaft and bearings - clean and grease every year. Replaced upper gear at 6900 miles this past fall. Lost one stud. Replace throttle switch and center wheels due to studding and the raised quiet track rubber situation. I have enjoyed this sled more than any other I've owned or rented. But I still love my Apex.

18 Sidewinder XTX 5,000 miles, boosted from day one. had to reseal oil tank, had to replace the idler wheels, rubber coming off, center shock lower shaft broke replaced with a custom from a machine shop very strong material, never a problem since. replaced upper gear in chain case, was starting to wear bushing and other than that just general maintenance. I did change all 4 shocks and run doo skis not because of failure just for huge improvement in ride and handling. also changed the rear tri hub wheel assy for JT wheels and axle just to eliminate any problem before it happened.

2018 STx-DX. 8,150 miles. Will have over 10k by the end of the season. Love this sled. No issues, but did do the usual upgrades to make it more reliable.

just past 7,000 miles this weekend, lost one upper gear at 6000 miles, a new pivot arm is on order due to some loose studs on the outside prior.

Other than that just maintenance, oil changes, shocks rebuilt, spark plugs, rollers, studs replaced etc... the track is still in good shape

all tuned since 0 miles

14,500 miles on mine now. Blew out oil tank gasket this year from frozen roll over valve. BOP's vented oil tank cap installed. Will likely have over 15k miles before years end.

Were you in IP last weekend? I thought I met you and your crew at the bottom of trail 2000.

I think I just broke 11,000 last week in Quebec but had to ride a doo to go get the trailer. I think the bottom seal let loose and I didn’t know. The chain started skipping so I tore it down in a hotel parking lot to adjust chain and was good for another 140 miles and it started skipping again so I went to get trailer. Lac fallion is not a good place to break down and far as driving. When I opened the chaincase up at home it looked like I painted the inside black with rustolium the adjuster was all the way in and both chains are loose. I give a lot of credit to amsoil 75-90, can’t believe nothing broke. When looking through the sight glass you would swear there was oil in it cause the inside was burnt. That’s the downside of filling oil over the sightglass. After riding the 900t for 200 miles and being open minded cause I’m do for a new one, I can’t imagine being on anything but a winder. Can’t wait for march 22, I need a ltx le with ps

Some crazy mileage listed. I am a lightweight compared to some.

This is my fourth season on my '18 and I just passed 10,500 km's. Love riding this sled. The off season maintenance to keep it going is extensive - but am getting used to it. Its been a strong sled, and has not let me down. Now i have been all over the 'usual suspects' - replaced the oil tank seal twice (ughh). But friends with the 900t do not have a stellar track records - They have had plenty of issues. Cracked header, bearing failures, spark plugs etc.

But of course the BRP guys still preach on their excellence.lol.

17 ltx a bunch of belts none recent clutch side jack shaft bearing @ 8200 miles has been the only mechanical failure

Excellent sled

Well I'm at 27,000 miles so far this year on my 2017 LTX-SE and after all the necessary mods to the drive train to make it dependable it's been an enjoyable season so far. I've rode Yamahas since my first one in 1973 and have had to modify something on all of them to make them bullet proof. I'm pretty sure I would of had to do the same with Doo's Poo's and Cats also. Manufactures build sleds to ride an average of 500-800 or so miles a year. I work on sleds for a living and see what mileage people put on their sleds. I did have a chance to ride the new Mach Z a bit the winter and I can tell you bumps are still bumps I don't care if they do adjust 50 times a second! Got back on my sled and realized we are riding one of the best riding sleds out there even if it is a 10 year old chassis, not to mention the best engine to date. I'm not sure what some people want Yamacat to come up with besides bold new graphics because they already make the best sled for what it is intended for. I am anxious to see what's coming for 2023 as I would like to get a new one. A lot of my riding buddies are jumping ship but I just can't bring myself to Doo it. I am a little miffed that 2022's still haven't been delivered, but some haven't received their new Ski Doo's either. All we can hope it's not like this next year.
