Hurricane & TD Gap Flashers- Need to know!!

Are the flashers interchangeable between TD & Hurricane? Does anyone know if one flasher can do both TD & hurricane flashes on the same flasher ?

The flasher runs off the VIN, this would be question for the TD or Hurricane or Patrick from GAP.

You would think that when the sled was flashed with TD or Hurricane the flasher would work for both, if either one of those flashes was mated to the same VIN as the Flasher was??? No??

You can have 2 flashers one with TD and one with Hurricane and have the same VIN but the flashes themselves are unique to each supplier as well.

I thought this was only when it was plugged in near the chain case. Not when its used with antilag harness.

My flasher has been plugged in since I received it a year ago. Installed with the antilag harness. I haven't had an issue.

Patrick just confirmed that this is only an issue when the flasher is hooked up be the reverse. Flasher is connected differently on the Anti-Lag harness since there is a ignition (switched) 12V wire on which its connected. Consumption is therefore null with key at Off.I will make a note change in the first post.

So if we don't have the Anti-Lag....we should unplug if sled is going to sit a while(2 weeks or more)??

If you want zero issues, just use a tender....Ive just always installed 29 dollar tenders to all my toys day one, so batteries last forever and no issues of longevity.

Many of us mount our flashers in a manner where its not simple to unplug them. With our mogulled up trails I have lots of zipties on mine, otherwise it would be gone...lol

Never ever used any tenders on any of my toys-Bikes/Sleds/Lawn Tractors, and never ever had one battery go dead over the winter/storage or summer/storage periods...and that’s the honest to god truth. I think the key to this for me is...I run them good before putting them away...and never ever start them during storage...and if I do(sled only..& maybe only one time to see if the battery is still good), I let it run for at least 10+ minutes.

So for me, unplugging this Flasher would be the way to go ...since rides for me can be 2-3 weeks apart in the winter, due to getting time off and traveling to ride! So the sled sits for a few weeks between uses in the trailer during the winter(sometimes hundreds of miles away from my home, where I ride) ...with no way to plug in a tender. So this is why I depend on a good strong battery, and not having something drain it.

Someday I will own a sidewinder and will have this problem but until this day happens I'd like to share with you what I've done to to bypass this problem with my boat.
So there I was got a new Gps deepfinder. Installed it everything was working the way it should. Fished four different times weeks apart.
Time passed two to three weeks before I got out again. No I didn't read ALL the directions. It worked wonderful and I was happy why would I, but wait.
Deepfinder was shut off and.. GPS was still searching for a single.
Went to start boat at landing was unaware battery was completely dead. At first I didn't no why and found the problem.
Problem was deepfinder searching for a single.
Installed battery disconnect problem solved.
Aftermarket battery disconnect???

Something to think about.

What Steve said 4 posts back. Sorry just read that
