It sounds to me like you would remove that rubber coupler, thus increasing air flow at the turbine housing.Interesting. I’d like to hear some feedback as well
However I see that it's 3D printed plastic so I'm not exactly sure how all that works.
No that wouldn't make sense, because the coupler doesn't go inside the turbine housing.

Isn’t that the coupler you found tore on yours?

Yes, it's funny how Hurricane just called it out as an ongoing problem & mine went South.Isn’t that the coupler you found tore on yours?
How ironic....
Looks like you cut the end off the factory intake and slip the new end on towards the turbo intake.

10 HP for $120?
Moderate tune? What is that? SMT? PMT?
Interesting for sure but need more info.
If it is a true 10hp then it is a no brainer.

Ok,but if the rubber coupler is torn,is it not drawing in air? I don’t get how there’s a power loss there? That tube I believe is the intake after the air box or cai, no?

Yes on location. I haven't quite figured it out.Ok,but if the rubber coupler is torn,is it not drawing in air? I don’t get how there’s a power loss there? That tube I believe is the intake after the air box or cai, no?
My only question is... Why would Dave produce the part and it not be what he claims?!?!
Especially at $120.

Hard to believe. Lets see the graph before and after? 10hp in what RPM range.

Number 43 in this pic. If I understand Dave's picture the replacement is the left hand side of that tube. Since the diameter is smallest there, the implication is that the coupler or coupler interface is either a restriction or a source of a ton of turbulence leading to inefficiency. The further implication is that Yamaha left 10HP on the table (stock) since that replacement tube has zero effect on emissions, engine health or fuel economy. hrmm indeed.
