mshabaz said:Funny u mention leak. As soon as I installed my new air kit and turned it on....every fitting, and I do mean every fitting that was preassembled at ulmers, was leaking! I could just watch the air bubbles coming thru all the sealant they had used. Which meant I had to cut every hose fitting I just hooked up and take off all the fitting, disassemble, and reseal all fittings they made. What an unfortunate waste of time. It holds air now. I suggested to Allen to maybe QC all his fittings before shipping to customers. He should b able to set up a test rig for his product. It will save his customers a boat load of time and aggravation!!! But so far the kit is holding up and I like the convenience of adjustment as I did w my Olin's
I had the same issues but its not completely Allens fault, its his supplier. I had the same issues with my M20 as well. I know he has since made changes to the kit. I have went over that kit again and again and I cannot find leaks but it will still loose 5 lbs in 2 days. How much do you way and what pressure do you find works best for you?

About 210. Just got up to the watersmeet area yesturday w family so only popped about 15 mi on it. Pressure on gauge is running about 185-190 on gauge. Probably 170-175 off ground. Feels pretty good so far but haven't hit anything worth testing it w yet. I'll keep an active post. As far as your leaks. I hate to say it. But u may have to reseal all your fitting from the gauge to the tee and even down at the hull entrance. I rescaled all but the hull and was still losing about. 5psi as well. Sealed the last fittin in the system at the hull all now all good

Damn I soaped them all up and could not find any more... I hate those air systems...LOL
I found at 240 we run the air pressure around 195 to 200 and 210 if the trails are nasty. Any less and it ride like a old pro-action.

When we added the Hygear Control system to the front fox floats the setting we found to work best were a ride height pressure of 65 psi and anti bottoming pressure of 175psi. Overall this provided a nice ride as well as a race car handling feel.
As far as the Hygear's rear shock changes: it works extremely well WITHOUT the Ulmer added pump, lines and gauge assembly. Hygears kit will provide internal volume spacers, re valving, bottoming stopper and slow speed valving changes that really make it shine in all aspects over stock. You will find the stutters bumps to be removed and somewhat plush without crashing the skid over wash outs and big moguls.
If you decide to add the Ulmer Kit you will need to inform Hygear of this prior to ordering. I have worked through some changes with Hygear that will allow you to use this kit and still have the comfort and control you are looking for.
If you have any further questions please feel free to post.

Mr sled. On the front floats- did u just add the Hygear kit. Or did u send them out to them for revalving and anti bottom as well??

Also. Just a thought. As we were speaking. I have the Ulmer kit as well. What about a small shut off valve at the hull?? This way the majority of all that air would be out of the system and you would still be able to adjust it when needed. Just a thought. It would still give u the flexibility we r looking for

So it sounds like you installed the new dual pressure kit and not the air control system they have had available for a few years for the floats.
i just looked at thier website i had no idea they had this new kit for the floats. wondering if you ever ran the air control system and had an opinion on one vs the other. Can you explain some on how this dual pressure system works and its advantages/disadvantages? hygear lists nothing more than a picture on the web site.
also wondering, is your review of the megafloat just standard trail riding or have you had a chance to put the megafloat through some real rough stuff yet. if so was there a real noticable difference on the big bumps??
thanks

I hope this helps... I can try to give more of what I feel on the kit as the questions come up.
