I am considering purchasing the Hygear Rear Dual Pressure 3 Kit - the addition reservoir only not the linkage kit. Purpose is to reduce bottoming while having a more plush ride. Does anyone have this setup? Does it really make that much difference? Everything on my 2017 XTX is stock. I have read some other threads but seems that everyone with the setup has the linkage kit and addition reservoir. Feedback greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

I had some experience on the linkage kit with the dual pressure on a 2013 Cat, a Pro Cross 141" like the XTX, and it definitely improved the ride a lot over stock. I can't tell you what the dual pressure alone would do for you. I know on my current XTX I added the dual pressure to my front Float 3's and it made a noticeable improvement, and gave some flexibility on adjustment (bottoming and ride height being separate). The bottom line is that adding the dual pressure to your rear Float 3 will improve your ride over the stock Float 3 alone, but it probably won't be as "plush" as it would be with the full linkage kit.

I've had it on my 2014 XTX and I think it should've been this way from Yamaha. Takes the studder bumps like a champ even at high speeds.
I have the shock and dual pressure chamber for sale in the classifieds section also if you're interested.

I too am in the situation where my sled is a suspension dog. I personally talked to Bill on his center spring and he also recommended a dual chamber add on for the rear air shock. I asked him if I should go with the linkage kit and he said I wouldn't need it. So has anyone run just the dualchamber alone or would it be best to go with the whole kit?
Just get the chamber and if you need more get the Linkage later. It’s not like your going to be out $.I too am in the situation where my sled is a suspension dog. I would just call Hygear and have a conversation with them about your options.

That sounds great Mike, but I think the people with the questions are hoping for unbiased input from real users - as opposed to hearing what someone trying to sell a product would like them to think. Just a thought.I would just call Hygear and have a conversation with them about your options.

I have one on my Cat, the sled is a 153" with the QSL shock though. There is a noticeable improvement in ride quality. I actually can run about 5 psi more in the main chamber and still get a smoother ride due to the extra air volume. Overall I'm happy with it and would buy one again.
FWIW, I also had Cannondale re-valve my shocks and added EVOL chambers to the front shocks. I'm very pleased with how the sled rides/handles.

I would have to agree with your position. That sounds great Mike, but I think the people with the questions are hoping for unbiased input from real users - as opposed to hearing what someone trying to sell a product would like them to think. Just a thought.
However, only the manufacturer and designer of a product can provide real data and performance spec. I find that conversations with a small company like Hygear is not usually filled with a lot of sales pitch. I try to search out the tech people within the company.

His spring allows you to run a good 10-15psi less in the rear float to achieve the same ride height which helps a lot. I went from 130psi down to 115psi in the rear shock after installing that 160# spring, which eliminated most of the "bucking bronco" effect on my sled. My 14' came with a Float 2 so I tossed a Fettbros screw on canister I had sitting around on it and that also softened up bottom out performance.I too am in the situation where my sled is a suspension dog.
