Guys, I am so cranked about Custom John putting my sled in his display at the Toronto show that I went a little over board with the polishing..........................cubby

Ya, a hobby is MUCH better than an addiction, LOL! Cubby, my wife would SHOOT me if I spent even 1% of the time you have in polishing your sled. Looks great man ;)!

Chubby, see you at the show!

Your wife must be the happiest woman in the world is you spend as much time rubbing her down as you do your sled. GREAT JOB looks real good. :pics:

Sorry guys, I am stuck in Seattle training all week for work. Thanks for all the input. This baybee is coming together and I hope youse all like how it comes out. I met and rode with a lot of great guys from this forum and I am looking forward to meeting a lot more at this Toronto show...........Cubby

Ok How is it done?

I bought a jar of mothers alum. Polish...Is it just a lot of elbow grease to get it to look like that? I searched on the site for any other post but found none.. any help is appreciated

We (us polishers) sand the aluminum smooth starting with 600 grit sandpaper and end up using 2000 grit. Then we use a buffing wheel with some type of rouge. Then finish up with a light polish like mothers or my personal favorite, Extreem. I do know that Custom John can polish aluminum just like (if not better) than I can. Hit him up on his site : www.customsleds.ca

Looks good Cubby! ;)!

I'm surprised you haven't gone 136" yet. It would give you another big piece of aluminum to polish.
