I have an 07 Apex RTX. When I bought the sled the floats were at 50 PSI with 4" carbides. The sled handles great. When I got 6" carbides the extra bite made it tippy and greatly increased steering effort. Over the summer I added a 13mm sway bar. The helped wit hthe handling of the sled but I am not 100% satisfied. Right now I have my floats set at 60 PSI with the 13mm bar. My straps are in the stock hole and my block are set on high and my rear shock is turned all the way up. PLease any suggestions to make this sled handle better would be greatly appreciated!

lower your psi (dropped it so the a-arms are almost vertical) tighten the limiter strap up a notch, that should give you a good starting point

I think I would try one hole on the strap and see how it handles and go from there. You should be able to then back off on air if need be.
Any other suggestions guys?

Then what would there be to improve on? Perfect for one isn't always going to be perfect for someone else.

Drop them floats to 25-30lbs (unloaded). That's what I run on my 06 rtx and no bottoming

Why don't you go back to stock?, you said it handled great. Sometimes more isn't always better.

Go one hole tighter on the straps. I run 37 psi in my floats. Lift the rear skid and loosen the front shock until it almost comes out and turn back two turns. Leave it that loose. Two lines showing on the transfer rods. Leave the back cam on high. Try that set up and try to use the compression in the rear shock to keep the bottoming out only with the biggest bumps.

you should balance out the carbide with the amount of studs you use
7" carbide 144 studs
4" carbide no studs
7" carbide 144 studs
4" carbide no studs

I am sorry but I have read one of these posts too many. I apologize in advance. I can't see how some people can complain about their sleds handling they think it should be letter perfect. Give me a break, we ride these things on varying conditions, snow and trail, different temperatures all in the same day. People I think your expectations are a little high. These are $10K sleds not Ferraris! Peroid. They are going to have inside ski lift and they might dart alittle, thats part of the fun. Grow a set, grab a handful of throttle and enjoy the adrenline rush! The bottom line is no sled by any manufacter does everything perfect for every rider, PEROID. I apologize I just get sick of reading these posts, I thought we were supposed to be "tough: sledders.
Sorry again,

I loosened the limiter strap 1 hole and rode it 25 miles. Sled still had a lot of inside ski lift but man was it fun to ride. Lifted the skis alot more! I will try tightening the strap 2 holes tommorow and see how it changes things.

I tightened the limiter strap 1 hole from stock and it made a pretty significant difference. There was less inside ski lift which was nice and it eliminated 90% of track ratcheting. Now all I need in to set up my skis so they dont dart and she will be perfect!

You've got the right idea now... every sled set up is different for each rider. Making small adjustments until it's 'your' set up is half the fun!!! No such thing as a cookie cutter set up. Glad the changes you are making have been paying off...

the 13mm bar will make the floats act stiffer, drop your psi to 50(unloaded) and then try it, drop 5psi till you find your sweet spot. Mine are at 40psi combined with the limiter one hole tighter and it rails 100% better than stock configurations. Floats are anti bottoming by nature so you can get away with low psi
