Dan
What quirks do you speak of?
The open area around handlebars isn't closed off on production models that I seen and the front bumper is mounted poorly, which feels like it will rip off picking up the front ends.
Issues aren't a deal breaker for me and I might just order a 2013 in March.
Dan
Yeah, I thought it was a little incomplete by the bars, but the bag that goes there is very cool and a great idea. The turbo sled will come with the sport bumper, not the cheap one thats on the 2s and NA sleds, that was confirmed by a rep at Hay Days. I cant wait to get mine home.

Gotta say I was quite impressed with the Cat F 1100 in the white & orange when I first saw pictures, however after attending the Big East Power Sports Show in Syracuse NY yesterday, I left quite a bit less enthused. Saw one displayed which had been on a demo ride and must say it looked "cheaply made". Fit and finish was horrendous and nothing I could feel proud about putting my name on. Very jagged edges that looked like they were trimmed by hand with a hacksaw. Exposed, randomly spaced staples attaching the seat cover only added to the "cheap" effect. The white paint was chipped and flaking in several areas which quite frankly, with prices just shy of 14K in my opinion is unacceptable. Granted, I've not ridden one and I'm sure the Suzuki engine is reliable, but I can only imagine how poor this sled will hold up cosmetically after a season. Time will tell.

Those issues right there would have me second guessing the rest of the sled and would make me look elsewhere.
I am fussyl when it comes to stuff like this so in my opinion if it isn't put together half decently and paint is peeling already, what's that the rest of the sled like and how long will it last before other hidden issues pop up?

I have put more miles on my wifes Saber Cat then my Attak the last two seasons. Once it breaks during the season I don't have time to fix it.
There's an 06 Attak in your signature, first year sled too I believe, haha.

Saying an 06 is a first year sled is like saying the 2011 Apex is a first year sled. Yeah some changes and improvements but not a "totally new" chassis.

Im even more excited to get my new cat after seeing them at the toronto snowmobile show live and in person. IMO they were every bit as good as any other sled I've owned yamaha included in the finishes department. No complaints jus an excited to be owner.

You gotta give it to Cat, sure their sleds don't have the fit and finish that Yammy has, but they are a lot better now than the pre production ones at the shows this spring.
Even as these sleds are being picked up by customers, certain issues like the exposed staples on the seat and the body panel issue rubbing on the exhaust have been addressed and repaired mid production...and these sleds haven't even hit the trails. Do you think Yamaha would do that? They still haven't fixed the slider wear issues and ski issues yet (at least not proven yet) and these issues have been addressed for several years.

I find it hilarious that every one starting buying the turbo cats in 09 and 10. And now you see a ton for sale because they want the new and improved, and so it never ends :exc: . And next year when yammie introduces there new sled everyone will be back on them :rules and bitching about how there cats were not what they thought . And so it goes on and on and they just keep baiting the hook and throw it out. :rules

Does anyone know somebody that has put any miles on the ac fourstroke to see if they last. I mean like 5000 or more

Their 4 stroke engine has been out on the trails since 07 I think. The motors have proven themselves already, plus AC has a solid rep in the handling and suspension dept., which Yamaha has had a difficult time with nailing down.

The new cat is no where near as good as a Yamaha in the fit n finish dept...maybe if the Yamaha is 4 years old. The new cat is a nice sled, I really think they did a good job, fit n finish is better, but not much. I took a good look at one today...no better than my 06 F7.

I had a 06 f7 and 07 f1000 and u r correct the new ones r not any better as far as fit and finish! actually the most comfortible 1 is the 07 f 1000 as far as sitting posision. I cant wait till they r out on the trails so we get a real feed back from the people that switched from blue to green. I have a gut feeling lots of them will be back on blue.

Im far more interested in handling and performance over how a few panels look / fit as well. I'll take performance first, IMO after seeing them at the show they looked acceptable to me.
