i put one on the wifes vector last year (ice ripper), just picked one up at NOVI (thanks RICH) to put on the new attak....
i love the ice ripper.... im not a lake racer, but like a little extra grip when you rip, and definately a big brake improvement over no studs.
i think it was american snowmobiler did a test last year, similar sleds, no studs vs 144 studs vs ice claw.... accelleration was actually alot closer than you would think , and braking was within a cpl sled lengths.
it is definately an improvement, it is not the same as traditional studs, but if you want a little extra without the drawbacks of traditional studs, this is your track....

These are great tracks for those of you who arent looking for a ton of extra performance and they will allow you to handle icy conditions much better. They also add 1 pound of weight as opposed to the 8 pounds or greater that studs and backers add. We sell these tracks at incredible prices if you are interested. Great concept though.

I purchased the ice-ripper track for my Apex last year. I was very disappointed in the performance. Minimal improvement at best over stock and certainly a far cry from traditional studs. My advise would be to not waste your money for such little return. For added safety and traction stud the track normally.

Ice Ripper will not be the same as Picks. However, it does stop the side sliding and greatly decreases your stopping distance. I have used one all last year. All 256 studs are still in the track. No track damage. How may riders with PICs can say that? Also, the Ice Ripper weighs only one pound more than stock. Oh, the clips have holes in them to catch snow. I love it.

My brother has IceRipper in his SRX. It´s light track with a added traction on hard pack and ice. No wear or teared out studs. Great track.

Thanks for all the input. I can get one of these from one of my friends for $300.
He sold his sled and never put it on. I was going to try it on my 07 Attak GT.

i think there a waste of money if you want good hook up

Depends on your definition of "good hookup". I found Ice Ripper was roughtly equivalent to 108 conventional studs in a 136 inch track. For all around trail riding, traction and braking, that's good enough hookup for me. For sure if you want more traction than that you won't be happy with Ice Ripper track.
